“Get on the ground or you’re going to get bit!” he yells.
Rose complies by getting onto his knees and raising his hands, the video shows.
A state trooper whose camera was recording the incident then repeatedly shouts at the local cops: “Do not release the dog with his hands up!”
But the Circleville K-9 officer — identified by WOSU as Ryan Speakman – releases the dog, which lunges toward Rose and bites him as he screams, “Get the off of me … please, please … get it off!”

And/or Droogs.
The number of those here who are looking to provoke a fight before anyone even makes a comment that disagrees with them is amazing these days. Is that what this forum has become? Jim Robinson posted a thread a week or two ago attempting to deal with this. Sadly, you two and many others here missed it. At this point I see no comments defending the cop who released the dog.
Also, the “events that lead up to it” don’t matter. If the guy has his hands up then the K9 shouldn’t have been released and I suspect that the training the officer received (or should have received—since police unions often like to claim that the problem is a “lack of training”) stated as much.
Releasing the K9 isn’t supposed to be “payback” for running from the cops or whatever the guy is alleged to have done.
Then that will be the determination after the investigation. A lot of blacks seem to just go around doing whatever TF they please, and expect instant justice and a big payday if things go south on them. Suppose people crashed because of this asshats reckless driving.
“ Back the blue!” bootlickers”
It’s an argument made by simpletons that all of (x) group are (y).
Not even ALL the cops in the video are bad. Just the ONE who didn’t follow orders.
Suppose they did. Should the K9 get released because someone crashed due to “this asshats reckless driving”?
Maybe the cops should give him a “hickory shampoo” for that, too?
Actually, why stop there?
Maybe they should just execute him on site and avoid the cost of a trial and incarceration.
I’m sure that concept would sit well with some folks.
“The trucker evidently breezed past an inspection station. So he wasn’t just some innocent guy.”
Do you have any clue at all how that actually works now? There is absolutely no way the government’s “prepass” equipment is fool proof and always accurate. Let alone add the human error incompetence factor...
Innocent drivers are flagged to stop “after” they have already gone through and past the station all the time. It is no longer a situation where EVERY truck is required to stop, and the inspection station it’s self screws up all the time. Been there personally several times.
And, yeah...getting bitten by popo’s puppy is just one of the possible stupid prizes this guy set himself up to win.
The recourse of anyone injured by this guy’s reckless driving isn’t going to come from anything the cops do, other than writing an accident report.
When did Free Republic become Little Green Footballs?
Who wants to be a cop these days?
Dude decided to commit a felony. Multiple felonies, probably. A good rule to live by is that cops aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, so you ought not give a bunch of them a valid reason to point guns at you and threaten to release a dog. Dogs don’t know about civil rights. A felony stop is way past “License and registration, please.”
Honestly I think K-9 use on any suspect that has not exhibited LIFE THREATENING behavior is cruel and unusual punishment.
I have a close in law who was a Police Officer. He relates a story, he was at an overnight training session and K-9s were there as part of the training. He was just taking a break between training and one of the dogs got loose and silent as a shadow ran up on him and before he even knew it ripped his arm or shoulder..can’t remember which. It was bad enough he got a few days off with pay.
These dogs are not all human like intelligent and empathetic like the movies make you believe. Many are savage beasts just with a little training to redirect their blood lust.
Some of that sounds like training.
Around here they had a LEO handler and K-9 that used to attend public events. The dog nipped at people and they were not taunting the dog or going up to it. That was the end of the visits. The handler passed away several years ago and someone in LE later advised me that the handler was not working his dog enough and that this led to behavioural issues of the K-9.
Could be…
Local yokels generally aren’t the cream of the crop.
It's very underwhelming compared to the abuse some of the J6 protesters underwent.
Regardless, ever more it seems US cops are utterly useless, unfit for purpose and more often than not derelict in duty.
I didn’t mean these cops specifically.
I’m talking about cops’ behavior in general, during the scamdemic.
Qualified immunity needs to be done away with. Make the police take out personal liability insurance to pay claims - even if it is the city or union that pays the premiums. Eventually the bad cops will cost too much in premiums and become uninsurable.
I had my mind changed back some 20-30 years ago when the TV show “COPS” came out. Even back then you would have two or more different cops giving conflicting orders. “Don’t move!!!” versus “Hands up!!!” versus “Get on the ground!!!” And then beat the crap out of someone when they couldn’t obey.
I even remember seeing them plant evidence on camera. I was shocked, since my wife comes from a law enforcement family, and we all had positive viewpoints on them. Until that show, that is.
While we are on the subject, we need to grade these so-called drug sniffing dogs. If they give too many positive alerts and yet no drugs are found, they need to be retired.
