Ford just got a loan bigger than anything seen ‘since the advent of the auto industry’ — here’s what the company is spending it on

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced it will be giving Ford $9.2 billion loan to build electric vehicle (EV) factories.

Ford will be using this loan to build three separate factories, will substantially increase the American car manufacturer’s capacity for building vehicles that do not rely on gas.

“Not since the advent of the auto industry 100 years ago have we seen an investment like that,” Gary Silberg, global automotive sector leader at the accounting firm KPMG, told Bloomberg.

Ford’s dedication to ramping up EV production includes plans to make clean energy vehicles more affordable. That’s an important development as, so far, high costs are a common reason people have not been making the switch to EVs.

“It’s going to help make great EVs available to more customers while powering thousands of good paying jobs and American manufacturing,” Dave Webb, Ford’s treasurer, said in a statement, according to The Verge. The company will be joining forces with South Korean manufacturer SK Innovation. Together, the two brands plan to create enough battery capacity to power two million EVs annually by 2026.

The aid from the DOE couldn’t have come at a better time, as some experts predict that we’ll need 10 million EVs on U.S. roads by 2025 to evade the worst effects of our planet’s overheating.

Currently, dirty energy transportation such as internal-combustion cars and buses are responsible for nearly 30% of polluting gases that are contributing to Earth’s rising temperatures. So efforts to speed up the production of vehicles that do not release these toxic gases are important to slowing our planet’s overheating.

Moving toward a world with fewer gas-reliant vehicles benefits the planet in other ways, too. It means less need for toxic liquids like motor oil, which take years to degrade and can harm wildlife and contaminate waterways.

I’d say she’s in ninth or tenth grade and writing for her yearbook. The Julia type never walks the talk they spout.

When it comes to the history of WWII and just after, most people don't think about the war production that occurred in the countries that were involved. This 3 season series produced in Britain is full of historical info about the war production that took place.

Free-market works best. Capitalism is a commie-developed term to get away from the ‘free market’ term implying no government meddling. Look at the recent disparity in the economy when President Trump’s appointees starting eliminating the regulations (meddling) vs Obola-Biden’s appointees imposing regulations.
Nobody seems to want to ask where in the constitution the feddies were explicitly given the power to meddle. (And the commerce clause ain’t it.)

Thank Kevin for that massive blank check he just gave the rats. Biden just bought a bunch of votes and poured billions into Ford to build even more EV’s that no one wants.

In France they have gone further than that, and retroactively imposed emissions standards on vehicles that were never designed for those standards.

Then refuse to register them for road use.

A lot of those factories were civilian for other uses, repurposed for war production.

Those factories don’t exist any more - all outsourced.

NATO war production in the next war will be what the current defence contractors can produce.

The next blank check will be to the well-connected fellows who build solar panels, windmills, and batteries. The electricity fairy has to run off of something.

On the other side of the big pond, China has thousands of them in scrap yards, most of them never used.

Capitalism works best when the government is not involved.

1) All economic activity requires energy consumption. Money is just an abstract representation of energy.

2) The free market is naturally super energy efficient. The way to get rich in a free market is by figuring out how to use the least amount of energy.

3) Government is naturally super energy inefficient. The way to get rich in government is by figuring out how to rob the most people.

Exactly. Ignorant Americans have no idea of the futility of our ability to make a difference when it comes to fighting that "devil" CO2. What is not told is the amount of CO2 humans contribute compared to the natural sources.

Get out your calculator. Let’s do some math!

The total mass of Earth’s atmosphere is about 5.5 quadrillion tons.

Man has produced how many tons of CO2 over the industrial age? What % of the earth’s atmospheric tonnage does that amount to?

Fact: Humans have produced only 0.00022% of ALL CO2 in the atmosphere--that’s it--and since natural CO2 is just .004% of the atmosphere--that means we’re only responsible for such a SMALL % of the total atmosphere that it’s not even significant in the slightest.

Right now the CO2 levels are 415 parts per million. 415 parts per million is .0415% of the atmosphere. In other words, the atmosphere is 99.96% NOT carbon dioxide. Water vapor is a much more plentiful greenhouse gas, only the leftists can’t spin a narrative about evil oil companies producing water vapor. And water vapor is not a pollutant!

There has been climate change and CO2 spikes all the time--(there is no scientific doubt about that)--and to try to blame climate change on 0.00022% of the atmosphere is ludicrous regardless of how old you might think the earth is. The fact remains the total amount of CO2 produced by man for the whole of the industrial age is just 0.00022% in relation to the total tonnage of atmosphere. We would never lie to everyone that just 0.00022% of the atmosphere can cause global climate change because we know the math. How can so little be a pollutant? Those exploiting Green Weenies will never explain how just 0.00022% of our atmosphere can capture enough escaping heat, then radiate back a FRACTION of that heat back to earth to cause climate temps to rise. And note, I’m being generous because not all of the 0.00022% over the industrial age is still in the atmosphere! BTW Did the heat from you calculator cause the earth to heat up? LOL!

Finally, there is simply NO way man can be responsible for global climate change--none! It's all a scam to plunder billions from the gullible tax payers. ‘Scientists’ should be ASHAMED for even suggesting man is responsible or able to control it! Maybe they are getting their pockets lined from this fraud and are willing to say anything.

In the Wallingford District in Seattle, auto owners have to move their parked auto from their parked position every four days. Failure will cause your auto to be towed to a lot which will cost big to get it back. Imagine having to take a crucial trip and not be able to move your auto or, in my daughter’s case, spending a month in the hospital. Lucky she has her parents able to take her two autos.
