Poverty in Britain - Why are millions of Brits so broke?

Britain has a historically low unemployment rate of 3.6%. Yet poverty levels are breaking all records. It’s a paradoxical situation: almost 15 million Britons are considered poor these days, although there’s almost full employment. The reason: inflation and high energy costs.

Galloping inflation and a dramatic spike in energy costs in recent months are forcing millions of Britons into poverty. Wages fluctuate in an "uberized” working world of precarious employment conditions. Over the past 10 years, beginning with David Cameron, the government has scaled back its support to vulnerable members of society. The result: reduced life expectancy. Disadvantaged Britons are dying 10 years sooner than their wealthier compatriots - victims of what’s become known as the "shit life syndrome” - a life marked by poor living conditions, disease and addiction.

The documentary profiles people who have a job but can still afford nothing - from Blackpool in the west, to Ashton-under-Lyne and Cumbria, on the border with Scotland.

“How did they get here?”

From what I have heard, “immigrants” have been “dumped” in most states and that one way to tell is that they wear government-issued, brand-new backpacks.

Hundreds of thousand Brit Males were killed in the 2 big wars, and only God knows how many killed in the IK’s covert and undeclared special ops B$.

That drove a lot of potential females capable of child bearing into leaving the UK to find a man to marry an American, Canadian, Aussie or a Kiwi.

Anybody read Jack London’s “People of the Abyss?” Entire families lived in one room of a boarding house at a time when England was at the top of the world.

Today the neighborhood is gentrified. What’s the answer? There will always be poverty.

*I’m on the Big Island in Hawaii. Saw some Mexicans at a roadside stand selling tamales. How did they get here?*

Blue state. Big island is underdeveloped. Good place to send them if I were Ron Desantis or the Texas governor.

Honestly, I’ll blame a fair amount of this on the decline of Christianity in Britain. The teachings of the Christian religion lifted up ordinary people of all classes and gave meaning to their lives. As the country drifts back to paganism with probably less than 1 in 10 Brits being practicing Christians, what is left for the working classes? Drugs, booze, football, tattoos?

Yes, the neocon war/sanctions against Russia as well as the lockdowns and government handouts have caused the standard of living throughout the West to go into serious decline.....just as the globalists wanted.

Same reason millions of Americans are so broke. It’s by design of the leaders of both nations.

+1000

The roots of it was financialization and de-industrialization. Unfortunately some great “conservative” heroes in the UK and USA were a big part of it.

So the consequences of financialization / deindustrialization never gets linked to where the West is now.

WHERE is the surprise that the Brits are living in poverty?

1. Monthly utility bill UP thanks to liberal policy.
2. Immigration up due to liberal policy.
3. Taxes up due to liberal policy.
4. Government spending on poor, talentless, penniless, violent, muslim immigrants up thanks to liberal policy.
5. Purchasing power of the British pound DOWN thanks to liberal policy.
6. Misery Index UP thanks to DUMBASS British Voters voting for more and more, decade after decade, of items 1 through 5 above.

According to officers I know with the Honolulu PD, California is shipping many to Oahu. Didn’t know they were on the Big Island in such large numbers. Lot of local vagrants all over the beaches, sidewalks and any other place they can place their shopping carts. It is truly disgusting. Wonder what the foreign tourists must think? Worse yet is, there is no will to do anything about them. Blue state. Blue politics. Who cares if a beautiful State is ruined and run into the ground. Let the minority rule over the majority. That’s the way it is supposed to be. /sar

It used to be that while many Labour supporters were socialists, they were still socially conservative and patriotic.

Those days are long gone.
