Yup; I saw it several times on TV back in those days. One of the local channels had a program called “Million Dollar Movie” — the theme music being Tiomkin’s theme from “High and the Mighty” — which would run the same movie for a week, always at the same time (I think it was 5:00 pm local time). And “The Beginning of the end” was one of the films shown. I remember at the time thinking, “I didn’t know Illinois looked just like California;” a snide comment about the fact the movie was filmed in Southern California.

LOL! I watched the first 5 minutes. At least they should have found a flat area of farmland north of Bakersfield. East central Illinois is FLAT.
A great deal of the US looked like Southern California in the vintage Untouchables.
I remember Million Dollar Movie. They showed the same movie every evening for a week. When they ran “Godzilla” I watched it 3 nights in a row. Lol.
