Why do liberals and leftists want to continually indoctrinate everyone else, while today’s conservatives tend to adopt a live and let live attitude?
Raising this question to conservative friends, I had no idea that the issue would prompt such intense reactions, including heartfelt expressions about attempts to communicate with family members, relatives, friends, and associates.

I no longer discuss politics with anyone on the Left. I do, however, give God an earful now and then. This is His show and, free will or not, the leftist movement needs to be handled. She continued: “What I’ve learned is that intellectual ability can be completely undermined by ignorance. In fact, ignorance is the driving support for the progressive agenda. If they were exposed to the truth, they’d be aghast. I have a stepdaughter whose jaw drops every time she comes over. Her dad and I fill her in on what’s really going on. She avoids the news like it’s herpes -- but at least she’s honest about it. Her brother is conservative and informed, so we love talking with him -- but his wife is liberal, so we have to pick our moments!”

All my cited articles, from where my information came, well, he’d just deflect with general statements. We stopped trying to discuss politics after a few months. When he sees me, he still talks to me, though not a lot. That makes me sad.

Liberals aren’t the problem-—leftists are. They have “ends” and use whatever means to get there. Including lying, cheating and slandering-—look up Saul Alinsky.

It’s very simple.
It’s the same spiritual process that mind cults use. Our leaders are right, everyone else is evil, don’t listen to anyone but our leaders.
They are angry and want someone to dump on. It is acceptable in their circles to dump on conservatives, but it isn’t actually helpful for them to do so, because liberals would get a lot more done if they worked together with everyone else on issues where they have common ground. If you are angrily dumping on someone you aren’t looking for common ground, which suits elites just fine!
But part of the problem is that conservatives tend to see things through logic and reason, and thus try to make our points to liberals along those lines. While liberals have been told to shelve logic and reason for their cult-like beliefs and feelings.
Liberals generally see themselves as enlightened and virtuous, adopt what they think are virtuous positions, and thus invest their ego in their positions. Any opposition to their beliefs is thus experienced as an attack against them personally— and must be defended against. There is no rationality to any of this, just emotion. And the common emotion elicited is narcissistic rage. Hence the readiness to descend into ad hominem invective and vituperation.
I don’t know why, but I am still amazed at the reactions from a liberal work colleague of mine when I would send him news items backing up my assertions. This goes back a while, but one instance I remember was the revelation that the Obama administration was spying on journalists. He had no idea. To his credit he would always be honest about just not having heard about many of the stories, and not attack the sources.
I’m sure that is not the case for more libs these days.
The very definition of words gets in the way when trying to have a conversation with a truly dedicated Democrat Socialist phony liberal. Definitions, to them, are an entirely fluid concept, and the word used can change meaning with a mercurial swiftness.
See what happened to gender. What happened to economics. What happened to national sovereignty. What happened to politeness, respect, and good manners.
Because…. Liberalism is a more like a humanistic religion where for many, not all, the theology must not be challenged or people will die or can’t live thier life as they want.
Because it’s a cult.
They are emotional, not logical.
They lie about their motives, which are rooted in self-hatred, hatred of man, and hatred of G-d.
They have no actual guiding principals except hatred.

Liberals would rather revel in their ignorant emotions than have to confront the truth.

Until about 60 years ago, liberals did actually think that handouts and other social programs would improve things for the impoverished, now they know they were wrong.
So now their positions are simply based on HATING CONSERVATIVES, rather than wanting to improve things for the country - so, for example, if conservatives want to keep criminals locked up - then liberals (now basically Marxists) want to empty the jails. Or, on foreign policy, if conservatives are sick of sending money to Ukraine, liberals will be all for it, even if it destroys our military readiness (along with destroying Ukraine, of course).
It’s hard to be happy and especially hard to have any respect for your opposition, when everything you stand for is based on your HATRED of them.
Cuz for them politics is a religion where they consider themselves
Saviors of the World.
Each one a Secular Messiah that must not be blasphemed or questioned.
They are incapable or unwilling to face the truth of the matters at hand. Truth is light, they live in darkness.
It’s their religion — and they don’t want their religious beliefs challenged.
As is the case with many other religious believers.

I understand her anger toward God that He should really step in and handle things. Unfortunately, man’s descent into sin started long ago and a loving God probably does not want to keep starting over by wiping out most of the world’s people AGAIN and AGAIN to get our attention.
There is also the problem with a lot of people being too stupid to find the path out of their fog. Should God take out millions to eliminate the dumbest among us?
My brother once asked, years ago, about his fear of flying on an airliner, “What if somebody REALLY wicked is on the plane and God wants to take him out?”
What my brother missed in his thinking is EVERYBODY on the plane is a sinner.
