Yes, sadly.
At my age the “half plus 7” rule would be good for finding an experienced, healthy nurse.
I have a friend who married a man 23 years older than her when she was 40. It worked well. Then for the past four years, as her peers were enjoying their early retirement years she spent the time as a caregiver to her husband with a series of diseases affecting the extreme elderly. It sapped her life energy and her savings.
It was more like taking care of a parent than a spouse.
No thanks.
Everyone knows a 20 something who has a good handle on life matters. Likewise, we know people who are much older..joe brandon.. who are babbling idiots.
RE: Old men want young women?
Al Pacino.
I wouldn’t try that formula before age 22.
Lots of research shows women choose very differently for flings/hooking up than for long-term relationships, which is also evolutionary.
Look at Pierre and Maggie Trudeau. 29 years difference. What did they get out of it besides Justin Castro?
I’m envious. Regarding the Toyota Avalon. Too late recognizing a superb vehicle. Of couse they are not making any more of them. A circumstance of my present perfect vehicle the Mercury Grand Marquis. I have had two of them shot out from under me due to deer and a female driver hitting me. So, I drive a disposable former Police car Ford Crown Victoria that refuses to expire. Merc’s are way up in price, but one insurance claim and they will be a total, so not a good buy from that standpoint. I guess I could find a used Avalon, or settle for a Camry instead.
Dr. Sivava-U R a wise fella.
Those that don’t listen never will.
When the husband is hugely wealthy, much younger women for obvious reasons are more inclined to go along with it. At a certain point, the older the better—as that increases the odds that she gets more time enjoying the benefits without the burden.
You’re raising whole different factors, including beards and reflected and thus increased fame.
my dtr married a bit older.....
my brother at age 62 dumped his 30yr marriage for a young 21 yro woman, they married, had a child, now divorced within 3 yrs...the woman will get SS for the child for many yrs...probably child support...and frankly we're not even sure its his kid....what a total waste.
if my dtr came to me being 19 and her fiancee was 34 , I would do everything in my power to change her mind....
I can not understand what a young woman could see in an older/old man....if they marry young, they will never know the wonderful experience of both people being young and enthusiastic and passionate about everything....they are really missing out....
age is age....
but money is money....money talks....
I got married at 35 to someone 25 was married for 27 years, he left me for someone who was 23, after 2 years he was back BEGGING for forgiveness, I did not love him anymore!! Once you lose trust you have NOTHING left!! I would NEVER recommend a woman marry a man younger from experience I don’t think it works for the long haul!!
I suppose a small age difference would mean the couple was more likely to know each other at an early age, so they would know each other better by the time they got married.
I have a pool at my Delaware house like to see it?.
Amy man lucky enough to reach retirement and move to a retirement community like the Villages can have his pick of the widows. There is intense competition for the surviving men. Women out number the men by a wide percentage.
Their not all that interested in a long term relationship. They know they don't have time for that and their two dead husbands left them a nice estate and they don't needs financial support.
Everyone’s different. I married a 25 y.o. when I was 37. We divorced 21 years later for issues not related to age. I’ve been dating a woman 2 years older than me for the last 5 years. We haven’t had a single argument in all that time. She’s a former kindergarten teacher and tells me she’s used to dealing with children without getting upset....
Hey man, there are some very good-looking cougars out there who get plenty of attention, and lots of young men who like them. There are many women who age gracefully, and so far I’m shaping up to be one of them despite all my body has been through. I’m routinely mistaken for 5-10 years younger than my actual age, and until I was about 27 or 28, I was mistaken for 16. That was annoying.
As Strom Thurmond reportedly said “if she dies, she dies”
