I went to a Popeye’s recently - there was ONE employee. He was manning the drive-thru, the store cash register, and I saw him preparing food too.

Lucky for him, it wasn’t very busy.

I asked him - he said “yeah, the other people on the shift didn’t show up”

I stopped at a convenience store once that was wide open but nobody there. Another would-be customer arrived at the same time and called the cops. Came to find out later that the clerk had cleaned the till and left a few minutes earlier. He didn’t get far.

The manager didn't want to go on camera but said two people were working that morning and to his understanding, they had not left the restaurant.

My wife and had similar experience when traveling late. The person serving and cooking was outside having a cigarette and followed us in shortly after we entered.

Did they check the toilet?
