ANTIETAM RIVER, Sunday, July 12 -- 8 A.M., Via FREDERICK, Sunday, July 12.}
Our whole line is ordered to advance to-day, and unless the enemy retire, there will be more or less fighting before night. There was only slight skirmishing yesterday. The enemy held his picket's line very tenaciously, as though concealing some strong position behind it.
These are well grounded fears that the river may become fordable in a day or two. It had fallen considerable at Shepperdstown yesterday, and was still rapidly seceeding. A scout from Winchester, yesterday, reports the enemy moving another pontoon train, and a train of ammunition, to Williamsport. There is a prospect of more rain to-day, however.

SPECIAL DISPATCH FROM GREENCASTLE.
GREENCASTLE, via CHAMBERSBURGH, Sunday, July 12.}
Firing has been heard to-day, going on between Williamsport and Hagerstown. It is not believed to be that of a heavy battle.
The enemy occupy Hagerstown to-day.
Ten rebel deserters have come into Greencastle within the last few hours. The rebels are said to have had seven boats at Williamsport yesterday. Each boat cannot take over but two teams at a load.
A battle is expected hourly. WHIT.
SPECIAL DISPATCH FROM WASHINGTON.
WASHINGTON, Sunday, July 12.
Persons arriving here to-night from Boonsboro bring the report that Gen. STUART was captured on Friday night by our cavalry.
A heavy rain to-day, extending beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains, has caused a great rise in the small streams flowing into the Potomac, which six miles above here rose six inches in an hour and a half. If LEE is still on this side, his bridge-building operations will be greatly retarded by the rain, which will swell the river several feet within the next twelve hours.
