I had a doctor ask me if I had any friends. I made the mistake of quoting the character Malachi Constant in the Kurt Vonnegut book The Sirens of Titan. “I had a friend once. His name was Stoney Stevenson. We served i. The Army of Mars together. I killed him.”
Luckily he’d read the book.
A while back I tried to book an appointment for a physical with a new doctor at my health system. I need a new one because their docs don’t stick around. Can’t imagine why.
Then I found out that my first appointment wouldn’t be the bleeping physical, but an appointment with the doc so the doc could get to know me, talk with me, ask me questions.
I’d still have to pay for this mind you.
I said all I wanted was a physical.
No can do I was told. Gotta have that chat first.
So I have now bagged any and all well care appointments with an internist.
Bleep it.
If I need a doc, I’ll visit a doc in the box.
That is funny. And it would probably work.
I saw the father whine on tiktok. But I heard no action. And I didn’t hear anything about firing that “doctor”.
If the dumbass can’t tell a boy from a girl, you gonna send your kid there for medical diagnosis and care?
That’s like going to a mechanic that cant tell a Ford from a Chevy.
Usually nuclear gives a connotation of going all out with no regard for the consequences of actions taken. Going nuclear in Japan in WWII didn't have the same ramifications, as it would today, because we were the only nation possessing such a weapon.
Same holds true with this father, going nuclear because a doctor asked questions, even questions we find objectionable, and rightly so, would not go over well for the father.
I’d have just blown the place up.
In ‘16 I went to the doc and he started asking me that line of questions. I looked at him and told him to move along with the physical. He said it was required by obarkycare. I told him to just mark them all NR for No Response.
It would have also taken your children's dad away from them, and you away from them leaving them vulnerable in other more dangerous ways.
Hopefully someone would have intervened for the sake of you & your children or anyone else foolish enough to actually take that route.
The correct route would be to find a new doctor, and tell every parent you know, what this doctor did, and tell them to do the same.
It's what they do man.
You must give in to their demands. Or else.
I got the same treatment about that time. Doc asked, “Any guns in the house?” My response was to hit the heel of my palm on the side of my head and say, “ Sorry doc, I couldn’t hear you. The room just filled up with bullshit.” Then I got up and walked out.
A dead short across battery terminals...
LOL!
I think AAA stopped that service because a replacement is required.
This is the new government-run healthcare. Now Medicare is making senior citizens go once a year for a “wellness check”. All they do is try to ascertain that you’re not being abused, or are violent, or are veering into Alzheimer’s.
Yeah - questions like “do you feel safe at home?” Really?
LOL
