It sounds innocent enough, but this is just one of dozens of dark web pedophile groups exchanging advice on how to build 'uncensored' chatbots that can produce reams of child porn.
Chatbots are computer programs that use artificial intelligence (AI) to interact with humans. They have become increasingly sophisticated in recent years, with users able to ask them to generate lengthy pieces of text, or create life-like images.
And now predators are exploiting advances in the technology to create horrific, highly-realistic child abuse material.
It's been made possible after some tech firms released the code used to create their AI programs to to the public.
Their aim was to democratize the technology, but they have also opened Pandora's box.
'Uncensored' AI
Chatbots made by firms such as OpenAI, Microsoft and Google come with rigorous safeguards, designed to prevent them from being used to produce malicious content.
But in February, Meta - the tech giant which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp - decided to make their code public, allowing amateur tech heads to rip out these filters.
Smaller tech companies followed suit.
Supporters of this 'open-source' AI say it blasts a hole through corporate control and accelerates innovation by making this powerful technology available to entrepreneurs, academics and scientists.
Meta - owned by Mark Zuckerberg - claims its move 'is a positive force to advance technology'.
Some models have been used to discover new pharmaceuticals or pesticides, for example, but they are also open to abuse.

From a Constitutional standpoint, this is an interesting problem. Pixels are being arranged and shared between individuals who share a moral and political outlook. Under the First Amendment, that sort of thing is supposed to be protected. I mean, as far as we can see, no humans of any age are involved, abused, suffering or exploited. This isn’t about kids. It’s pixels.
If we get on our high horse and say “It’s too much. The government must act” then that really is the mentality that reads the Second Amendment saying “shall not be infringed” and concludes: “But no AR-15s. That’s too much. The government must act.”
Security through obscurity is no security at all.
If the hosts of the chatbots cared at all it would be pretty straightforward to figure out the structure of the prompts used to generate objectionable content and then trace back to the users that made the prompts.
Besides that, the whole article is just another call for government censorship with "save the children" being the emotional driver.

As a student of AI and ChatGPT prompt writing, this might be a good thing. The few remaining righteous FBI, LEOs, or Tech Pros can tap the logs (Chatgpt is forever) and trace the user. I hope the LEOs bide their time as much as they can, before revealing to the idiot pedos how easy it is to find them
Criminals use a wide spectrum of things to engage in their activities. The problem is the pedophile & his or her behavior.

The power of AI lies in the fact that it learns (so to speak).
For example, the banking industry is already worried that AI will be racist by not being lenient toward certain favored minorities when considering creditworthiness. AI only looks at the data behind creditworthiness. It doesn't give a damn what bankers and programmers want. And it doesn't give a damn about the color of your skin.
Well, the government would certainly grant civil rights to AI children before granting any to the unborn.

I am as much of a First Amendment absolutist as you will find. No matter how disgusting I find something that someone else wants to look see, I don't care as long as I don't have to see it and they keep it away from kids. Child pornography is entirely different, because creating it involves the abuse of real children. It is nothing more than recorded child abuse. Computer generated child porn does not.
