Apple announced it will permanently do away with the My Photo Stream album next month. The feature automatically stores pictures taken in the last 30 days.
Due to the impending shutdown, My Photo Stream stopped uploading snaps on June 26 — and everything in the album will be deleted when the service ceases July 26.
However, any pics that were uploaded to My Photo Stream before June 26 will remain in iCloud for 30 days from the date of upload and will be available on devices where My Photo Stream is enabled. To ensure you do not lose any pictures, go into the My Photo Stream album in your camera roll and save your pictures to your device or to iCloud.

Never save your stuff on somebody else’s storage. Ever.
What is “My Photo Stream”? I’ve been a long time Apple user and don’t know that. I use the Apple “Photos” app and don’t see anything with that name.
Me neither, does this mean they’re going to nuke your photo album? If so that’s the worst business decision I have ever heard of.
We pay for cloud storage!
From Apple Support: My Photo Stream
And this: About iCloud Photos and My Photo Stream (summary of differences)
I've always uploaded my photos to iCloud Photos, so I'm safe. I buy 200 GB storage and access it through iCloud.com.
These summaries are from the second link above:
See what I just posted in #5. It looks like I’m safe because I use iCloud. “My Photo Stream” doesn’t count agains your iCloud storage. They are not touching iCloud.
The business decision is probably sound, but it’s going to cause a lot of needless panic for people who don’t know what it is and cannot quickly tell if their photos are at risk.
Thanx a lot
Hating on apple today.
Can’t pull up statements on apple card
Thanks!
Thanks, I thought it was ICloud shutting down…. Will check on the other.
If you pay for iCloud you should be ok. It’s always a good idea to download your photos and save them offline.
Did you look on wallets on your phone. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled up a statement.
Thanks
Yup. They’re worse than MS on bullying me into their GS cash card app, but won’t go to apple card statements from wallet
Imo, terrible roll out on cc card & even worse on cash app card.
Quit using a year ago
I’ve had the same iPhone for the past 8 or 9 years. Never even took a picture with it, and never used My Photo Stream. Any photos I have are on the hard drive of my laptop, and they’re all saved on an external hard drive, DVDs, and camera memory cards I’ve kept all these years.
I’ve had an Apple Card for 4 years now. As far as I know, statements on my iPhone were never offered. If you click on Apple Card in your Wallet, and click on Transactions, it lists everything, purchases, payments, interest charges, etc. My wallet has all my transactions back to 2019. That’s basically your statement.
I’m confused. I have over 800 pictures on my “photo app” that came with the phone. But the article says it only saves last 30 days. I have pictures from 2020. Do I need to download and save elsewhere?
“What is “My Photo Stream”? I’ve been a long time Apple user...” Exactly. My first computer was a Mac Plus. Photo Stream? Never heard of it.
I just cannot feel sorry for anyone losing their photos or can’t upload them for someone else to store.
Do you have an Apple ID? Did you set your phone up with that Apple ID?
Go to iCloud.com and log into your Apple ID. On the front page, you’ll see a “Photos” box in the upper right corner. Click it. That will take you to you “iCloud Photos” page where you should be able to see all your photos.
Thanx. Ok found that
