What is “My Photo Stream”? I’ve been a long time Apple user and don’t know that. I use the Apple “Photos” app and don’t see anything with that name.

I'd never even heard of Apple's "My Photo Stream" before, probably because I've always used iCloud to store my photos.

I've always uploaded my photos to iCloud Photos, so I'm safe. I buy 200 GB storage and access it through iCloud.com.

I’ve had the same iPhone for the past 8 or 9 years. Never even took a picture with it, and never used My Photo Stream. Any photos I have are on the hard drive of my laptop, and they’re all saved on an external hard drive, DVDs, and camera memory cards I’ve kept all these years.

I’m confused. I have over 800 pictures on my “photo app” that came with the phone. But the article says it only saves last 30 days. I have pictures from 2020. Do I need to download and save elsewhere?
