“Once again I know why I am happy I don’t live in a forested areas.”
When we first moved here I wanted a house in the trees. So that could really feel like we were in the forest. But 95% of the houses were in a clearing. Well we found a house, moved in, and the first storm hit. I could hear the crack of numerous trees out in the forest, so then I figured it was a good thing not to be actually IN the forest.
The worst that happens is a branch or tree will fall over a driveway. But the guys here are so cute, just like the ones in the sierras. Everybody shows up with their chainsaws! Boy toys.

I see more migration from blues to reds. I think we have only seen the first wave.

That is very true of Pyrenees.
They are very intelligent which is what you want because they need to be able to solve problems when you aren’t there. I never had to teach them to protect the goats (or me), or walk the fence line at night. They instinctively form a “wall” between new visitors and the goats, for example, but relax when they see I am comfortable with a visitor. The other day they moved the herd away from a 3 year old daughter of a friend - I think they couldn’t read her intentions and she was just running around the goats.
My experience is they will let you train them if it is something they want to do. If not, it is harder. And everything is kind of on their terms. They might sit for me but it might take them a minute to decide if that’s what they want to do. At night they go in their stall and I hand them a treat on the way in. But they only do it for me, no one else.
Maybe it’s best to let the turtle stay in his shell...

The horrors of Germany are breaking their souls! Prayers were posted almost daily. Hundreds of bodies would be found when people dig for buildings. ALL was covered up and NEVER discussed. Now they are discussing.

Thanks. I didn’t know they were back online. Where did you work? The big store we always went to was Oakland, CA. When I was very young, I couldn’t understand why my mom didn’t just buy everything, since all she had to do was show a card and sign her name, no money! Lol.
