The Ask Amy response is brutal as you might expect it to be. Assuming this is real, this is what we're up against in terms of the "progressive" mindset when it comes to politics and entitlments.

“Dave’s behavior is upsetting and embarrassing to me.”
I’m thinking Dave would say the same.

he is a conservative voter and has supported candidates we all abhor. ...almost certainly Trump.
This is another facet of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). It is everywhere, like a pandemic, but We The People will overcome with the help of the Divine Providence of God Almighty.

I think Dave has learned what his family truly is interested in from him.

If the tables were turned, and a conservative bride excluded leftist Uncle Dave, I can almost guarantee the following would have happened:
1. Uncle Dave would melt down publicly and privately and doxx the bride.
2. The bride would feel vindicated in her decision, and enjoy her wedding.
3. Uncle Dave would inquire if he was missed at the wedding, and why hasn’t anyone asked about him not sending a gift.
4. The bride would reply “Uncle who?”

This is a great one for Matt Walsh’s “Am I The A-hole” segment.
This fruitcake and her daughter are the A-holes. Uncle “Dave” is a wise dude.

There’s givers and there’s takers in life.
Dave is a giver, but not a sucker.
Dave’s family are takers.

I totally agree with uncle Dave except one thing: I would send her the album, “Spirit of the Wild” from Ted Nugent. I would recommend her to play the song, “Kiss my ass!”.

The letters says that the other siblings were angry too. So maybe the entire family aren’t all entitled PoSes like this s*** and her bridezilla daughter.

This was an astonishing read. There was so much to “unpack” in that missive.
I forget sometimes that there are people just like this out there I never cross paths with.
Thankfully.

If I were Uncle Dave, I’d send her husband a card with a divorce attorney listing.

My mom, who had early dementia had the temerity to forget my niece’s fiancé’s name so the little skank emailed and uninvited her grandma to the wedding.
My mom was crushed. She still sent a gift. (I told her not to. I also told her that the little brat would be pretty regretful in a few years when grandma is dead.)

Put succinctly, this is the noxious bride telling her uncle, with the dingbat mother’s approval, “I hate your guts and you are not invited bc you are a Trump supporter but send your usual voluntary gift of $ 1000 anyway”. And he gave the correct answer, NO.
