A UK man on vacation with his family in Jamaica died after attempting to partake in a challenge that involved drinking all 21 cocktails featured on a bar’s menu.
Timothy Southern had finished 12 of the menu’s various cocktails when he returned to his hotel room at the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean in Saint Ann, where he later died, ITV News reported.
A pathologist in Kingston said the 53-year-old Staffordshire man’s cause of death was “acute gastroenteritis due to alcohol consumption.” Staffordshire-area coroner Emma Serrano ruled his death was alcohol-related, the outlet reported.

These are lessons to be learned in college as a young man. The key to drinking that much and surviving is 🤮 - frequently, before finishing all drinks. Once you learn that, you’ll never want to put it to use. (Not that I ever did.)

The only nationality I ever encountered who are more prone to drinking in order to get blind drunk than the Brits are the Russians.
....as one of my former co-workers used to say, there’s no cure for stupid.....he paid for his stupidity with his life...I dare say he should have known better...
We used to attempt drinking a beer for every floor in our dormitory as we climbed up the stairs for each level with the goal of reaching the summit of the 12 story building. One weekend, we attempted it with bourbon shots. I started puking on the sixth floor. It just went downhill from there.

I recall seeing four thirty-ish middle-class (lawyers?) British men in the lounge of a deluxe London hotel deliberately drink themselves into drunkenness.
Comparable Americans may do that as teenagers. Then they moderate their drinking, seldom getting drunk even in their twenties.

Most states still have dram shop laws and enforce them. Only 8 U.S. states do not have them. Some states even apply them to personal hosts that serve alcoholic beverages to their guests. In 42 U.S. states bar tenders and businesses are indeed liable and they know it.
