So, I very seldom drink coca cola (or even soda) anymore but my two brothers drink it alot. Anyway, they mentioned the other day that the coca cola is going flat a lot sooner than it used to. Well, I just cracked one open and drank half of it then let it sit for about 30 minutes before deciding to finish it off. Yep, absolutely flat. Never before has coca cola gotten flat this quick. I swear it seems like they've cut back on the carbonation. Anyone else that drinks coca cola notice this?
I like your style!
Wasn’t there a problem with fast food joints a few months back? I seem to remember they were unable to get carbon dioxide for their pop dispensers. Also, some beermakers use little devices in individual cans to provide more reliable, longer-lasting carbonation. Maybe soda pop makers do the same and are now unable to obtain the devices or have eliminated them to save a few pennies.
Maybe the mechanical vibrations help to release the CO2 into the surrounding air.
rc and peanuts is good too
Destroying the taste of bourbon... Shame on you 🤣
Carbonation varies GREATLY from one type of container to another, and even among bottling plants, certainly between different fountain vendors.
In my experience, the 2 litre bottles are fizziest, then the cans, then the 16/20 oz plastic bottles, then the Mexican glass bottles. All are sufficiently fizzy.
I refuse to drink woka cola.
I was was talking about keeping the fizz in the unused part of the opened 20-oz bottles which have the screw-on top and I keep in the fridge.
What I put into my glass or plastic cup, seems to say fizzy - it’s cold and I fill up the cup with ice. Seems to work fine for me.
I also notice that the 20oz bottles have dates on them that you can hardly read - I try to use the earlier dates first.
It will rot your stomach and give you diabetes. Even the "diet" ones.
Toxic. Toxic. Toxic.
Get a SodaStream and put however much CO2 in it you want. Get one now before they outlaw it. (I’m not kidding).
***the coca cola is going flat a lot sooner than it used to.***
The fizz manages to leak out of even an unopened PLASTIC bottle after a while. I opened a Mexican coke in a glass bottle I had over two years and still plenty of fizz.
And it is the same all drinks in plastic bottles, including root beer.
Don’t drink the stuff, it’s poison (not directed at you but for everyone)
I drink it so fast that there’s no time for it to get flat. It’s wonderful stuff but I wish I hated it! I swear one can adds half an inch to my belly. To those of you who never picked up the habit you’re lucky!
I have a weakness for Dr. Pepper
Toxic. Toxic. Toxic.
Amen to that.
I love the stuff. BUT. I was drinking 2 16 oz. bottles per day. Developed a gut.
Quit drinking SUGAR laden soda.
The gut disappeared.
No more.
Vitamin Water from Walmart. NO sugar...
We just brought some Cheerwine back from North Carolina. I have about 3 bottles left in my stash, then it’s back to drinking very little soda. When I do drink one, it’s usually a Dr. Pepper or an orange soda.
Beat me to it. RC and peanuts!
That's some good stuff. Never had a cheerwine until I moved to NC. I don't normally drink soda. But that stuff is legit.
I refer to it as soda pop because it is really a children's drink. But I would never give it to MY children!
Lost over 100 pounds during 2003 and 2004. I did other things too like take up walking and eliminating foods like breads and pasta (carbs). But soda pop was probably the main culprit. Switched to Poland Springs water. At first, I put flavoring powder in it to give it taste but eventually did not need that anymore. Also, black coffee. You develop a taste for black coffee, without all the sugar and cream, and you are on your way to a healther lifestyle.
The real test is being able to have 85% or even 90% dark chocolate and having it taste sweet as opposed to bitter. That's when you know you kicked the sugar habit. Dark chocolate is very good for you when it is 70% or higher in cacao.
Twenty years later and my blood work is good. The diabetes was reversed. But I must always be on guard for setbacks.
I usually don’t drink soda but i have a bunch of “diet coke” i got for free.
Is it bad for you? Should I throw it out?
