Special Dispatches to the New-York Times.
WASHINGTON, Monday, June 22 -- 10 1/2 A.M.
Another heavy cavalry fight took place yesterday at Aldie Gap between PLEASANTON's and STUART's forces. The battle began at an early hour in the morning and continued until nightfall.
Cannonading was plainly heard here at the opening of the fight, and the fact that it receded at its close is sufficient evidence that our forces were successful.
HEADQUARTERS OF THE ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, Monday, June 22 -- 9 A.M., via WASHINGTON, D.C., 4:50 P.M.}
The following gratifying dispatch has just been received:
"ALDIE, Sunday, June 21 -- 4:30 P.M.
Gen. PLEASANTON attacked STUART's force this morning, at Middleburgh, and a severe fight has been going on all day. We have driven the rebels, with severe loss, beyond Upperville, into Ashby's Gap -- a distance of eight miles -- capturing two guns, many prisoners, and blown up two caissons.
The success throughout the day has been uniformly on our side."
From information received here, it is put beyond doubt that the enemy's main infantry force, including the corps of A.P. HILL, is on the immediate western slope of the Blue Ridge, between Snicker's Gap and Winchester. Nothing was seen of the rebel infantry in to-day's fight. I am hourly expecting full particulars from my associate, Mr. PAUL, who is with the advancing column. L.L. CROUNSE.
FULL DETAILS OF THE AFFAIR.
Dispatch From Our Special Correspondent.
WASHINGTON, Monday, June 22.
This has been truly a glorious day for that portion of the army commanded by Gen. PLEASANTON.
Mr. E.A. PAUL sends the following to this Bureau:
UPPERVILLE, Va., Sunday, June 21 -- 5 P.M.
On Saturday but little advance was made, our forces in front bivouacing at night in a piece of woods
