Jeez, in 1979, I was grateful that my ex-husband offered $500 a month for child support. The Judge asked me if I felt that was sufficient, and I said “yes.” Of course to my ex, it was nothing more than paying a bill each month, because he wanted nothing to do with his two sons, and has never had contact with them in over 35 years.
