Letter from U.S. Senator Patty Murray
Email from Patty Murray | U.S. Senator Patty Murray June 20, 2023

Posted on 06/21/2023 10:34:59 AM PDT by Parmy

Dear friend,

It’s been almost one year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ripped away a woman’s fundamental right to make her own health care decisions—a direct result of a decades-long attack by Republicans to drag women’s rights back by nearly half a century.

Since then, the consequences of this ruling have been swift and cruel. Our nation is experiencing a full-blown health care crisis. Women across the country have been denied the health care they need—often putting their lives at risk. In just one year, Republican politicians have stripped 22 million women and counting of their ability to get an abortion in their home state. 14 states have implemented complete bans and another 6 now impose other limits on access to abortion. Another 9 states have tried to ban abortion, with those bans being temporarily blocked in court.

These radical policies aren’t only forcing women to stay pregnant—jeopardizing their health, and in many cases, their lives—they are also limiting people’s access to birth control and miscarriage care, jeopardizing Americans’ ability to access IVF services to start a family, and keeping patients from accessing other routine treatment and medications they rely on.

And they aren’t stopping there—Republicans in Congress even introduced a national abortion ban last year that would rip away the right to abortion for women in all 50 states, including Washington state. That same bill also threatened doctors with up to five years in prison for providing abortion care. That’s just cruel.

Since even before Roe was overturned, I have worked nonstop to block Republicans in Congress from advancing their extreme agenda. In this Congress, I’ve introduced or am helping lead legislation to:

Restore Roe and the right to abortion in all 50 states. Protect the right to birth control. Make sure women have the right to travel across state lines to receive abortion care. Expand access to family planning services. Protect our servicemembers and veterans’ access to reproductive health care. Ensure people’s online health and location data is protected and cannot be used against them. Expand access to abortion coverage for people on government-sponsored health care plans. Help medical students receive critical training in abortion care—even if they have to travel from out of state to get it. And I’ve stood up on the Senate floor a countless number of times to block efforts from Republicans to restrict reproductive health care.

While this has been an incredibly difficult year, we cannot let our guard down. Republicans are not slowing down—they are hell-bent on ripping away women’s rights in every state and every community. So, we can’t slow down either.

I refuse to accept a world where my daughters and granddaughters have fewer rights than I did. I refuse to accept a world where women’s lives are being put at risk because some politician thinks they know better than her about what’s best for her body. And I refuse to let national Republicans disregard the rights of people in Washington state who have made clear they support the right to abortion.

I am in this for the long haul, and I hope you’ll join me in the fight to restore Roe and our reproductive rights.

In service,

Patty Murray United States Senator for Washington state

ability to access IVF services to start a family, and keeping patients from accessing other routine treatment

Not sure what abortion has to do with IVF or starting a family, but how slutty do you have to be to make abortion a routine treatment?

She uses the term “ripped away” multiple times in her screed. Interesting choice of words by this demon.

Letter from U.S. Senator Patty Murray of Washington State. Look for the lack of subject/verb/pronoun agreement. The use of singular with plural and plural with singular. The lack of capitalization of State at the end of the letter.

I can't say recently, but a few years ago Congressional committee staff would vote - with out party factoring - who was the smartest and dumbest member of Congress. Patty Murphy won dumbest year after year.

Murphy is what Brandon calls her.

Patty Murray is one of the stupidest people God ever gave the breath of life.

I’ve had dogs and cats who were smarter than Patty Murray.

I once had a guppy that was smarter than Patty Murray. And better looking, too.

Interesting phrase in this context, “ripped away”.

“Ripped away you say?”

I noticed several phrases like that which could be used in a letter that was anti-abortion, just replace “baby” with “health care”.

A couple of years ago I went through the list of bills that Patty had headed up and that had been passed over the years. She sponsored or co-sponsored over 300 bills.

Of the ones that passed, only 2 or 3 had any substance, and all of them were related to VA health care (increases in access, etc.). The rest that passed were either naming of roads or buildings after somebody, or giving somebody an award medal.

Sort of like Patty herself. All for show but nothing of substance. A paid place holder (Democrat Vote - Yay!).

One good thing about her poor success rate - this pro-abortion effort will also fail.

Blah, blah, blah. She mentioned women but her side rejected that term in favor of “birthing persons” which means she and her Democrat colleagues and allies have relinquished moral authority to use the term “woman” and derivatives when it comes to this issue. They can’t define the term so they can’t use it anymore.

They have already asserted “men” can get pregnant and thus they can only speak in terms of “birthing persons” because to do anything less is discrimination under their own rules, logic and lexicon. No more appealing to “women” on this issue because because that’s exclusionary and wrong factually and morally for their side.

We’ll see more of these “sisterhood of the womb” statements from Hillary, Michelle and various others on the Left as the anniversary of ending Roe nears.

Ripped away like an abortionist does to their babies.

I agree.

If only that had resulted in 22 million fewer babies being murdered in the womb.

We had 930,160 abortions in 2020, an 8% increase from 2017. I wonder what would be the reaction if we had that many deaths from the side-effects of a vaccine? Talcum powder?

This trans movement is a new industry. It is Capitalism that the Left hates. With it both boys and girls will be neutered like animals with abortion no longer needed.
