Chef John Mountain took to social media on Tuesday to declare that people who don’t eat meat and other animal products won’t be catered to at his restaurant Fyre in Connolly in Perth’s north.

“Sadly all vegans are now banned from Fyre (for mental health reasons),” he shared on social media.

The ban was reportedly sparked over a fight with a customer over vegan options at the restaurant, with Mountain exasperated to the point of banning all plant-based diners. The celebrated chef, who has worked with Marco Pierre White, said the argument started when a young woman reached out before visiting the restaurant to ask about vegan options.

Cows are vegan, cows eat grass, I eat cows, therefore I am vegan.

Not sure if it was real or not, but some BBQ joint has T-shirts with a one-star yelp review printed on it.

“This place is terrible, has NO vegan food on the menu.”

In Philly, they make those, and add a little creamy Russian salad dressing to the sandwich, and serve it with Jewish pickles.   (They call that a "Corned Beef Special".   Man, they are good!)

Depending on how strict and rigid they are as vegans/vegetarians, they can probably find plenty of things to eat in most BBQ restaurants, including cole slaw, potato salad, tossed salad, baked potatos, beans, corn-on-the-cob, macaroni, chips, pickles, drinks, etc.

(See this BBQ menu link, as an example:   "Cooper's BBQ - Austin - Menu".)
