MILWAUKEE -- A shooting shortly after Milwaukee's Juneteenth celebration Monday afternoon left six people, including a 17-year-old boy believed to have pulled the trigger, injured, the city's police department said.
The shooting happened around 4:20 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police said they believe it may have stemmed from a fight between multiple people in the area.
The victims -- four female and two male -- range in age from 14 to 19, police said. No one was killed.
In addition to the 17-year-old, police are seeking other potential suspects.
The city's Juneteenth event had wrapped up 20 minutes before the shooting.
Juneteenth shows 'our history does matter,' leader of Urban League of Greater Madison says
“We have to see this as a vital part of American history that all children need to know about. And so Juneteenth day gives us an opportunity to feel like we’re a part of this country and our history does matter,” said Dr. Ruben Anthony Jr., president of the Urban League of Greater Madison.
With that recognition, Anthony says it is important that Wisconsin continues to progress in the right direction.
“We have to begin to not just talk the talk, but have our action aligned with our talk,” he said. “Even though we celebrate Juneteenth, our work isn’t done. You know, we got more work to do.”

Black lives matter, don’t you know?
Juneteenth....what a scam
It must be racist to point this out, but in general, Presidents’ Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas are not celebrated by shootings.
“a vital part of American history that all children need to know about”
Ummm, what happened to ALL of February?
Juneteenth and Cinco de Mayo are simply convenient dates for specific protected groups to drink heavily and enjoy their sequestered little worlds.
Juneteenth shows ‘our history does matter,’ leader of Urban League of Greater Madison says.
Correct Mr. Urban League. Your history does matter. Your history of burning, looting, violence and murder matters a great deal to us. We are sick and tired of the never ending mayhem inflicted on us by memebrs of your “community”..sick and tired. Police your own before you lecture us.

Whew! For a moment there, I thought this violence might have had something to do with our nation’s newest holiday.
“. . . it may have stemmed from a fight between multiple people in the area.”
Some people did some things.
Most pandering throw out since Kwanza. Actually this may be worse, as “Juneteenth” is an actual government holiday. Pitiful.
Crank up the boom boxes with some Kool & The Gang, “ Celebrate good times, come on!”…..
More like ‘Jungle Boogie’
Anybody seen the final body count from this year’s June Umpteenff celebrations “across the nation from Missouri to Illinois” (Daily Mail UK)?

A reminder to never go near an area with a “Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.”

Amen.
Years back while stationed at the Navy’s Great Lakes training center, I pulled liberty and would spend it in Milwaukee, it was a beautiful safe city then. It’s sad what’s happening to our cities thanks to lawbreaking thugs who are not held accountable.
