This teen was stupid but also deceived by the lunatic Woke purveyors out there. Her parents could and should have put a stop to that madness but they’re more stupid and prolly Woke idiots too.
If you have never been through the grinder on this, you wouldn’t know:
1. That parents can have their parental rights revoked if they push too hard against it.
2. The system is rigged for affirmation, not a cure.
3. The therapists that specialize in GD push affirmation, not cure.
4. Some gender clinics will not be truthful with parents. I pushed - HARD - and caught them shoveling crap when my own child went through this.
5. There are several medical conditions that can cause GD. Some are curable, some are not. My kid ultimately fell into the not curable category after 3 years and thousands spent on doctors and tests. Ironically, they refused to do the ACTH test when I asked for it; if they had, we could have done something. By the time they actually did do it, the damage was done. Her adrenal receptors were already conditioned to recognize free floating adrenal androgens as testosterone and her body was developing like a boy during puberty.
Parents are just more meat for the grinder.
And FYI, the stuff they are pushing is antithetical to actual studies and science.
Seriously, if I were to write an article on it, it would be 4 parts long and many thousands of words.
I know this will sound strange to people who see past the curtain...
But there are people who really believe the “experts”
My father was one of those .. collage degree .... taught to trust the “experts”
We had many a talk. He could not understand how I could second guess a “professional”. He just could not get past the indoctrination.
I don't know if that's the case here. But the parents may have been desperate to do the right thing for their daughter... they may be victims here to.
Academia has placed some strong chains on the minds of many.

If we get a few of these lawsuits where the defendants have to cough up millions of dollars a pop, maybe this insanity will cease.
I was listening to one of these heartbreaking stories. The parents strenuously objected and dragged their feet for many months. The parents were put under relentless pressure and threatened with losing custody if they did not support “her choice”. Finally, the parents were convinced by psychiatrists that if they didn’t support this, she would likely commit suicide and it would be their fault.
For this reason, she doesn’t blame the parents - and I admire her for that.
Of course, I would never have listened to shrinks - and I never would have stopped fighting it. But not everyone is as bullheaded as me.
She should have received that therapy before she decided to be mutilated...by her choice.
Punish the “doctors”, but if she wants monetary compensation, direct her to her parents.

Wouldn’t this hospital and the doctors have required lots of sign-offs by a minor’s parents before performing any sort of surgery? Based on the story, someone shopped doctors until they found some who said yes. I don’t mind making them liable too, but unless the hospital and doctors did this without parental consent, the parents are more to blame.
Wow! I went to college the main thing I learned was not to trust experts, myself included.
Unfortunately, my state (California) is trying to make it a crime for a parent to refuse to INSTANTLY support whatever
whimsical gender choice their child happens to make or is said to have made.

I asked my urologist about the operation where some veins in the penis were closed off to improve erections. He said, approximatly, medicine is as much about fashion as women’s hemlines. Hemlines go up, hemlines go down. Operations/procedures come into fashion. You see articles about them and attend seminars. Everybody does them. Then we find out they don’t do what they were supposed to, and nobody does them anymore. Even I did a couple of those, and they didn’t work. It’s best to not do anything at all unless you absolutely have to.
So what would you do different if you could turn back the clock?
Not saying you were responsible in any way, but I don’t know how parents live with themselves for even being partly responsible for such a mutilation.
