However Dr Shahab Mahboubian does not specialise in age-defying face lifts, boob jobs or any other Hollywood-loved op.

Instead, he focuses solely on lengthening limbs — an eye-watering procedure which can make someone six inches taller. Yet it can cost up to $170,000 (£134,000).

I volunteered at a school and there was a young girl in a wheelchair with some sort of halo braces on her legs. She had that procedure done to lengthen her legs because one of them was quite a bit shorter than the other - it was difficult for her but she was always joyful. It was quite an ordeal - IIRC, her leg was broken and the halo was attached to where the bones were barely touching. Once they started to grow together, they would adjust the halo so the bones would be pulled apart again slightly so they could try to fuse together again and then they would be pulled apart again.

Well they all say 6’ on the internet but I’m 5’ 11’’ and height has never been an issue. I think those under 5’ 5’’ may be having problems though. Each generation is taller than the last. I’m actually taller than most of my contemporaries from previous generations.

A tall woman I know (NOT my wife) once said that tall men have an obligation to marry tall women.

I do know one family where the husband is 6'7" and his wife is 5'1", and another with a 5'10" man marrying a 4'10" woman. My father in-law was a tall 6'3" and my mother in law is maybe 5'3" (my wife inherited her father's genes).

Main issue is childbirth when the women get that tiny.
