Why more US men are falling victim to Japan’s anti-social hikikomori trend
New York Post ^ | 6/5 | John Mac Ghlionn

In Japan, an estimated 1.5 million people — many of them young men — now live in complete isolation.

The problem has grown so severe that the Japanese have a term for it: Hikikomori, one who literally withdraws from society.

SNIP

During a recent interview with Chris Williamson, a British podcaster based in Austin, Texas, the political economist Nicholas Eberstadt discussed the fact that 7 million men of prime working age are currently without employment and not seeking jobs. Many of these men, said Eberstadt, spend inordinate amounts of time indoors, totally withdrawn from society.

Or used as cannon-fodder in a rich man’s war.

Aren’t all wars, rich man’s wars? I had already retired from the military, before I realized that.

“They think they can dictate to men what a man “should” want”

Whenever anyone tells you how you should feel or what you should want they are your enemy.

What they want is to make you their slave.

People fall in love outside of marriage. They often even come to their senses.

Good for them. Women dont need no man. Men dont need no women. Gynosocieties are not great for men to live in with women.

I can take a messin with like the best of them. But if you have to tolerate EVERY SINGLE TIME you go out, one just decides one day to not go out anymore!

Hearing went on me. and I get razzed about it every where I go. Friends use it as a punch line... And the last broad I chanced a date with, brought her around my friends, and at one point waved me off to my buddy and said, “...oh he cant hear you anyway...” My buddy shot me a look, I just laughed, finish my beer and left her there. went home and forgot all about it.

Tired of people changing depending on whos in the room... tired of the 2 faced... There are actually 2 people left I would consider a freind in my life. I’m good with it!!

I’ve noticed that many young Americans do not know how to interact with others. They seem to have few or no social graces. Many will not even make eye contact.

It would be a pretty miserable ‘shrug’ if you just stayed indoors all the time.

They might be indoors but they might be more connected to like-minded people all over the world; more connected than if they went "outside" in their own neighborhoods.

The government has gone out of their way to break up communities, mix in all sorts of people who hate America and our ideals. Workplaces have become woke toxic sewers. Men wisely refuse to associate with coworkers. It's all risk and zero reward. The government really thought they could reprogram people with the help of the propaganda media, and that white males would except the worst deal in history.

Instead, males in particular find like minds through the internet and don't suffer fools who might live nearby.

Victim?

I spent about 60 years working working to achieve that state.

We are killing our younger generation with screens .

No, they're finding truth, reason, sanity, and logic away from those around them who peddle Communism, Socialism, pedophilia, pederasty, and the like.

I saw sick administrators in high school and college. I would want nothing to do with them and have hope that the younger generation has access to open minds and reason among those they meet online as compared to the overwhelming dreck they deal with in their daily life.

There's a reason so few people go near their local municipal government - it's a hive of scum and villainy.

No, she learned narcissism at home. The camera just encouraged her to be an overt narcissist instead of a covert one.

We're not killing our culture; they're simply exposing how dead and rotten it had already become, starting more than a half-century ago.

“Now, I have a daughter in-law, that has notified my son that she wants to separate. They both make good money (not the problem), have two great girls (5 and 7), get along, no infidelity, no abuse, etc. - she even tells him “you’re still my best friend”, acknowledges he’s the best dad ever, and is great to her. She’s 36...and seems to think that she will be able to go back onto the market, divorced, with 2 kids, and yet, somehow, get something better. She’s going to destroy 4 lives (incl. her own), the kids don’t even see it coming.”

Some social scientists noticed a trend a few years ago when studying divorce. They would ask the women why they wanted the divorce and the women could not provide any concrete reasons - even often acknowledging that their husbands were good men and very good fathers. The women said they simply were not happy. The researchers were baffled. Now it’s very common.

I didn't date much in HS, had but one girlfriend after graduation.

I didn't really start having much success until I was 25. By then I had much more self confidence, thanks to 2+ years as a lieutenant, as a Platoon Leader and XO.

Summer of 79, I was TDY at a German firing range about 30 miles east of Kiel. We were the only Americans for 200 miles, and the town off base came to life, with the greatest concentration of newly divorced women.

They fell in love with my soldiers, who reciprocated the affections...lol. It was like fishing in a stocked pond. Early on, I began what would be a two year relationship with a German woman. I made so many friends that summer, that's where I spent my long weekends my last two years in Germany.

My German was nearly fluent by the end of that summer. Professionally, it was a great experience. As the XO, I assumed command when the CO wasn't around, which was over the half the time (he was dealing with an unfaithful wife).

To say I ran it "my way" was an understatement. Our support was at Bremerhaven, 200 miles away. There wasn't any time to dither about making decisions, which was to my advantage.
