I caught that also but then she is smart enough to get into a profession that contributes virtually nothing towards the advancement of our society and where one can charge $400 per hour just for answering a phone.

But, I would say to her: Income doesn’t tell the whole story.
Who is better off?
A high-income earner drowning in school loans, car loans, a big mortgage, and credit card debt?
Or, a low-income earner who owns a home outright with no debt and a large savings?
The higher the income, the better. But, real wealth isn’t a high income. It’s a paid-off home, a large savings, and zero debt.
