This is a tale of two black people and one major city.
Within just the last week, Walmart closed half its store locations in Chicago, and the city police department instituted new curfew and bag-check policies at public parks and beaches following days of “reckless, disruptive and violent behavior.”
A sane person who prefers living in a clean, safe, and prosperous city would see that news and say things are going in the wrong direction, and the people who are responsible for it need to be held accountable.
That’s how popular TikTok user The Blaq Mamba reacted in a video she posted Sunday. (snip)
She said she was “ashamed and saddened” because “We blame everybody else for our sh-t but then when we are tapped out of resources in our own community, we don’t ever want to look at ourselves and point the finger back at ourselves, and say, okay, maybe we f-cked up. Maybe we shouldn’t have been going in there stealing TVs and going in there stealing electronics and all this other sh-t … We need to do better.”
A person who is perhaps not sane or who is, at minimum, a societal parasite sucking the life and goodness out of everything would react just the opposite. He would excuse the ne’er-do-wells, thieves, and fiends. Instead, he would direct blame at those who refuse to tolerate anti-social behavior.
That’s how deadbeat incoming Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson reacted in 2020, the year of Saint George Floyd rioting. (I assume you don’t need me to tell you he’s a Democrat.) Johnson saw no urgency to the situation. “I’m saying that people are acting out of desperation,” he said in a remote TV interview, dialing in from what looked fittingly like a jail cell.

Karl Marx had the idea of “immiseration” in which society gets worse and worse and that this is a good thing — because it makes people long for Communism as a cure for all the problems. I think Cloward-Piven is somewhat similar: push the social support network past its breaking point so that people demand Communism as a sweeping transformation that will fix everything.
But I find it pretty remarkable that awful Democrat ideas are manifestly making everything worse in so many areas, and people seem to think “Let’s have more of that”.
Real desperation is found in the elderly and law-abiding citizens who will have nowhere left to shop, pick up prescriptions, and no sense of security. Those destroying the city by rampant theft and lawlessness behave like a swarm of locusts and they are already moving out from the city center with no end in sight.
This is all part of the plan.

Well, it was a lot like that as far back as Richard Daley.
Someone posted a story about the Byzantine empire a while back. Towards its end people who could fled the cities for the countryside. Then the Turks took over. This isn’t new.
To “fix” American cities, society will need to go through a very difficult catharsis.
Problems with drugs, homeless, and the state of young black men must eventually face a reckoning, and have to be dealt with harshly, save for an act of God.
American society has zero stomach or even understanding of it. City Governments will need to be dismantled and rebuilt, because in fact, they are enabling the problems.
I have zero expectation this can happen. So expect present trends to continue.

You’re right it won’t happen in fact the situation in Chicago has to get significantly worse so that it resembles the movie Escape from NY with Shake Plissken where there’s nothing left but roving gangs and all business has departed
Ultimately the CME will leave Chicago and take the thousands of jobs with them which won’t change the course but it will be a major wake-up call any sane person remaining who will probably leave afterwards
Liberalism needs to carried to its ultimate end which results in total destruction and we are far from that in Chicago.

The third world is the third world because there is no middle class.
A viable and thriving middle class is the foundation for a free economy and self-government.
That is why the Marxist seek to destroy the middle class.
I only ask this question because it seems apparent to me that since the Industrial Revolution, the “middle class” has been almost entirely a construct built on massive public spending and government debt.

Well the people of Chicago had a pretty clear choice this last election and they chose more of the same, lawlessness and societal suicide. Now they are getting it good and hard.
