Howard University Professor Calls on U.N. Tribunal to Make Reparations to Black Americans

A Howard University law professor petitioned a United Nations (U.N.) tribunal to pay every black American $5 million in reparations — a proposal that would not need taxpayer approval.

On Friday, Justin Hansford, a leading scholar in critical race theory, addressed the U.N. tribunal in New York City during the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, the Daily Mail reported. The forum will last four days, ending on June 2. David Comissiong, representing Barbados, proposed it.

Hansford was joined by colleagues from the University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University in his plea that the United States government atone for the sins of slavery and Jim Crow laws.

A descendant of slaves from Georgia, Hansford said the reparations owed to each person should be determined on a case-by-case basis. He said that for some, $5 million might be too low.

Reparation task forces and commissions have been popping up all across the country following the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020. This month, a task force in California forecasted that reparations to black Americans would cost the state $800 billion, more than twice the state’s budget. The city of San Francisco sanction reparations committee has recommended every black resident be allocated $5 million, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

Truth: Only a little more than 300,000 captives, or 4-6 percent, came to the United States. The majority of enslaved Africans went to Brazil, followed by the Caribbean.

You and I are in 100% agreement on the attitude, but I think the details are even more profound. IIRC, it's:

black slaves taken to colonial American states: 300K to 400K
white slaves from Europe taken to African states: 1.0 to 1.2 million (all of them kidnapped from Africans, not fellow Europeans)
black slaves taken to Latin America: 5.0 to 5.5 million
Jews killed in the Holocaust: 6 million
black slaves sold to Asia: 10 - 12 million.
babies aborted in the U.S. in the past half century: 67 million

Yet we're supposed to believe the black slaves in English speaking America was some kind of unprecedented atrocity that hasn't ever been eclipsed.

Correct. I meant, kidnapped by Africans. For example, almost the entire town of Baltimore Ireland was captured by African pirates who did a sneak attack on the town and took their captives to sell in the slave market in Africa. This kind of thing happened a lot in Europe, especially in areas closer to Africa (i.e. the Mediterranean coast). In fact, some Americans were captured too, but only ones sailing on ships through the area (the Africans didn't sail across the ocean and attack American towns).

Some say it's a major reason that the north African Muslim nations are now white. The primary purpose of the white slave women was sex slavery. Perhaps before the European slave trade, the north Africans were much darker. According to one Muslim tradition, Muhammad himself said that blondes (Al-Asfar) make the best sex slaves.

A lot of Europeans were captured by white Muslim pirates and sold into slavery as well. I think the latest Turkish slave raid on Sardinia was 1816.

The Christian victory at Lepanto in 1571 freed something like 10,000 European Christians who were galley slaves in the Turkish fleet.

Question: how white were the Turks before the centuries of white sex slaves perhaps lightening up the gene pool? It's possible they were as white then as they are now. But it's also possible they were darker (though probably not as dark as sub-Saharan Africans). I'm leaning toward them being pretty white since they are probably descendants of Japheth, but I don't know for sure. It's not like we had Polaroid cameras back then.

However, I'm pretty sure the Arabs (probably descendants of Shem) were darker than the mix of Arabs/whites in North Africa who did most of the slave trading of Europeans. And I think it's safe to say the north Africans were probably a lot darker then too (before centuries of white sex slaves lightened up the gene pool and before many captured whites freed themselves from slavery by "turning Turk" and joining the pirates). As dark as Ethiopians? Nope. But I wouldn't be surprised if the north Africans then could pass for black today. The truth is we don't know.

If I had to guess, I'd say the old artist drawings of the Barbary Wars like this one best depicts the color of the north Africans from before the Ottoman slave trade. Of course, if I'm right, both blacks and whites have to eat a little crow about historical figures. This would suggest that "black" Simon of Cyrene who carried Jesus' cross was probably not as black as many black Christians make him out to be (Cyrene is in modern day Libya, not Eretria or Ethiopia or Congo). It would also mean that many of our early church fathers in north Africa (i.e. St. Augustine of Hippo) was probably a bit darker than white modern day Algerians.
