Well, four American submarines carry over 300 Tomahawk missiles between them.
Four Ohio-class SSBN were converted into SSGNs
Certainly 600 heavy duty missiles is enough to take out the bulk of the Chinese 200-ship (or so) navy. A single good hit by a Tomahawk will disable a carrier and sink a frigate, two to three hits will take out any ship out there. Certainly five American submarines carry enough payload to sink or disable the entire Chinese navy, even excluding the possibility of nuclear-tipped warheads (Tomahawk or otherwise).
The problem is the many layers of defense the subs would have to contend with to get there. You need to be within 1000 km or so of the target, know where it is and where it’s heading to have any chance of hit. China knows this and has countermeasures against submarines entering their seas. Beyond that there are countermeasures ranging from anti-missile missiles to ECM to CIWS as a last-ditch resort. Not all Tomahawks would hit, that is clear. Some would get through, but many would be shot down en route and many more would miss their marks due to electronic interference.
Tomahawks really aren’t well suited to attack ships, they’re precision guided weapons to take out critical land installations.
So the claim is technically true, but meaningless. Four American submarines have enough non-nuclear payload to sink the entire Chinese navy in one salvo, but it’s doubtful they could ever achieve anything remotely close to that, in any realistic scenario.
Yes, understood, but we need to start disengaging. Otherwise, once an American service member dies at the hands of the Chinese military were really screwed. Cut off cold turkey, scramble to find new sources, make it again ourselves, while also fighting a war. Plus, the realization that we paid for the Chinese military, do we stop or continue trading with them all way our soldiers die?
How about we stop Chinese commerce

and thereby cut off life saving drugs to the US. Millions of Americans die as a result of such a hasty decision.
General Marshal is long dead. Today it’s commie stooge Milley. Operational security is optional in today’s DoF.
.
Thanks to Red China’s ownership of Rat Party Headquarters the Chinese navy will be twice as powerful as ours in five years.
Milley is out - the new guys is even worse. He’s likely give targeting data on US assets to them.
No we stop and replace. Do it now. Or are you suggesting we say, ‘Hey, were fighting the Chinese but it is okay to keep buying from them, funding them so they can stay in the fight?’
You tell Joe and the Dems to fund the necessary plants [ don’t bitch about the trillion dollar price tags either ] to make the chemicals and be sure to rush the permitting through in less than 7 years etc.
Are these “experts” saying the pervert military is “safe and effective”?
lol.
Excellent news. Block V... I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that these upgrades were added. Thanks!
Most of the root technologies are American, like everything else.
What did Lee IACOCO say to the Japanese auto industry?
It’s really sad with 500 million you het egg rolls
There would be a nuclear response, so we would not do this (unless we are the victims of a first strike).
My understanding is that the navy has a sub launched Harpoon variant now (much shorter range than the TASM had) and a Long Range ASM (LRASM). I don't know what the current navy inventory looks like now that Lockheed Martin Ratheon are making LRASMs.
This is so stupid.
Ships move. Any sign of an attack would certainly result in the CCP navy taking evasive maneuvers. GPS targeting can’t follow a moving target. It would also be the immediate end of Taiwan, the sinking of US naval ships and/or goodbye to Pearl Harbor/Guam/Philippines/Okinawa since I doubt the CCP would just take it. Blood lust war fantasy like this serves nothing but inflate US delusions of military grandeur. The “fully operational NATO death star” known as the Uke army has been decimated by 5% of the russkie military. Think the CCP would do much worse? It ain’t Iraq.
It has. Works fine.
Well while I was watching this today I wondered if our Space Force also has the same type of weapon. Better and cheaper!

RE: the Uke army has been decimated by 5% of the russkie military
According to Wikipedia, Russia has a total 1.15 million active military and 2 million reserve, that’s about 3.15 million men and women. I’ve read reports that there are at least 300,000 Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine.? That’s DOUBLE your estimate.
The estimated Russian military death toll is over 41,000, with over 150,000 wounded. If the Ukes are decimated, when will we see the total military victory for the Russkies ? I’ve been reading the word “soon” since Autumn of last year.
Not if hissing tranny sailors tell the chinese where to find them.
