- as they call for her to be made a saint The abbey which previously would receive no more than 20 visitors per day is now seeing about 1,000 visitors on a daily basis After May 29, her body will be encased in glass, meaning visitors will no longer be able to touch the body The church officials said they are investigating Lancaster's case, as incorruptibility can be a sign of sainthood
Thousands of people are flocking to witness Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster's body after it was recovered from her Missouri grave without any signs of decay despite being buried since 2019.
Faithful Catholics are rushing to Gower - about 40 miles north of Kansas City - to witness the unblemished body of Lancaster, who died in May 2019 at the age of 95, as some are calling it a miraculous sign of sainthood.
The abbey which previously would receive no more than 20 visitors per day is now seeing about 1,000 visitors on a daily basis, according to Ashlie Hand, a spokesperson with the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
'As of Tuesday, they were seeing about 1,000 visitors a day. I think now, it's probably well above that. The expectation is the crowd will grow over the holiday weekend,' Hand said to Fox4.
Hand said it's possible the monastery would receive up to 20,000 visitor this over the weekend.

Should have just put him in a Cadillac, like Willie The Wimp.
You should have patted his old bald dead head.
Just Plain Creepy!
.
But totally Scriptural.
/$
Corpse worship, just the same.
'When I tell you what imagery found in Scripture REALLY means,' the magnificant Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather superior tone, ' it means just whomever I choose it to mean, neither more nor less; but sometimes two or more different things at once.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can define imagery to mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, C.SS.R, S.S.L., O.F.M, S.T.D 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
...go against His 'dust to dust' thingy.
Psst! So is Mary!
Buddha gets his belly rubbed.
She’s in better shape than Biden, but still creepy.

Notice the different ear lobes in the pics? (Not the nun);)
Is her corpse rotting?
The Incorrupt body of a holy person is, according to many theologians, to remind us of the Resurrection of the body on the last day, and in Our Lord’s promise of Eternal life. As far as the weirdness of Catholic “obsession” with relics and incorrupt bodies, this is a culture so alien to the modern. world that it’s difficult for modern people to accept it. But the Old World didn’t look upon death or signs of death as macabre. People to this day in Eastern Europe have picnics and parties in Cemeteries.
Old World customs made it to America in many places. Ever seen pictures of dead people propped up in a chair made to look alive? Citizens of the US would hold wakes where the deceased family member(s) were put on display as if they were living, sitting in chairs, standing...babies would be propped up on blankets and liked like they were gesturing to the mourners. It’s tough to understand in the modern world, but all humans don’t express life and death in the same fashion.
As I see it, a body should look fresh, nondecayed, nondehydrated, nonshriveled to satisfy the true definition of not rotted or nondecayed.
People who have been embalmed and are dug up often have their skin, bones, intact though they are shriveled up.
Yes.
From the moment we die in this temporal world, our bodies begin to rot. Definition of rot: "To undergo decomposition, especially organic decomposition; synonym: decay"
Now here's the truth of the matter: "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground, for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” - Genesis 3:19
Connecting the dots >>> in order for our dead bodies to go from flesh to dust, our mortal flesh must rot away - what remains is dust.
Most important: There is no veneration of corpses or their dead body parts in scripture. The nun who lived on earth is not here. She has a new immortal body in heaven.
