Many Republican lawmakers have announced they will vote against the Fiscal Responsibility Act, after President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reached a final agreement on the deal on Sunday with just days to spare before a potential first-ever government default.
Rep. Matt Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, confirmed in a statement that he would be voting against what he dubbed as the 'Fiscal Irresponsibility Act' as he said it failed to rein in federal spending.
He also said lawmakers who are intending to vote for the bill are insulting the American people by voting to add '$4 trillion to the existing $31 trillion national debt'.
Elsewhere within his party, Rep. Chip Roy from Texas called the agreement a 'turd-sandwich' and said he had spoken to a number of his colleagues who were not intending to vote on the agreement.
Rep. Ralph Norman, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus from South Carolina, called the deal 'insanity' and said he was 'not gonna vote to bankrupt our country'.
The deal would see the nation's debt ceiling limit raised for two years, after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the U.S. government would run out of money to pay its bills by June 5.
In a statement released on Sunday night, Rosendale said: 'The D.C. Swamp has proposed the largest debt ceiling increase in our nation’s history, adding $4 trillion to the existing $31 trillion national debt.
'The Fiscal Irresponsibility Act fails to cut spending and continues to fund the Democrats' and Biden Administration’s radical agenda.
'It is frankly an insult to the American people to support a piece of legislation that continues to put our country’s financial future at risk. Montanans did not send me to Washington to support business as usual, which is why I will be voting...

McCarthy is going to have to depend upon votes from the democrats. However, they don’t want to seem as if they are giving the GOP a “win”.
I think it is an awful bill and does very little of what McCarthy is pretending it does.

McCarthy’s one dealbreaker should have been his promise to defund President Biden’s massive $80 billion to turbocharge an already weaponized IRS.
This was the totemic centerpiece of his pitch to become speaker.
It was the most memorable promise of the Republicans’ midterm campaign to win back the House.
It struck a chord with voters, wary of funding a new “army” of armed IRS agents to harass middle-class families
and small business owners and abuse their powers to target political dissidents, Soviet-style.
“Our very first bill will repeal the funding for 87,000 new IRS agents,” McCarthy vowed.
“You see, we believe government should be to help you, not go after you.”
Sure enough, the House voted 221-210 to repeal the extra IRS funding.
“Promises made,” the newly minted speaker said Jan. 9, banging the gavel on the first bill of the Republican-controlled House.
What about promises kept? In the debt-ceiling deal outlined Sunday and due to be inked later this week, June 2, 2023
McCarthy has allowed the lion’s share of that extra IRS funding to remain unmolested: preserving $78.1 billion of the $80 billion.
As rebel GOP Rep Dan Bishop put it: “So there will be 85,260 more IRS agents rather than 87,000 to eat you alive. Big win.”
Overpromising and underdelivering is what turns voters off the GOP.
McCarthy is the third stooge joining Boehner and Ryan
Basically correct. George Soros and his globalist minions may own 60% or more of the GOP, but they own 100% of the Democrats.

It will pass easily in the Senate.
In the House Republicans need not vote for it since they know some Democrats will.
In the House Democrats need not vote for it since they know some Republicans like Speaker Softy will.
It is quite likely to fail to get enough votes in the House because most Republicans know it stinks and many Democrats are so extreme leftists that they won’t sign on to possible fossil fuel permitting and any sort of food stamp work requirement.

It must be remembered that Republicans en masse passed the largest tax cut in american history. Republicans enmasse seated uncountable number of judges including three on the Supreme court.
Democrats have never recovered from the above and efforts to overcome by Executive Order have been stopped and reversed.
So, I will argue that the rumors of George Soros on the Republican party ate totally without merit.
How about a simple reset. For every dollar of debt added, a dollar of cut must be made?
You worry about limiting spending. As the nation grows, the need for spending grows.
When there is a real decline in population the need for growth will diminish. Such a real decline is not on the current horizon
Politics is the art of the possible. Politics in not the art of “I want”
The problem is entitlements. Generally, given the near 50/50 split there is no majority with the raw political power to make reductions in the entitlements.
These GOP reps need to replace McCarthy..
Wall Street went up when ‘progress’ was reported on this deal Friday.
If the ‘entitlements’ are ever really cut it will impact business less business for stores those grocery stores especially.
