Pendleton Mother of Five Dies Suddenly
East Oregonian ^ | May 27, 2023 | Dakota Castets-Didier

Posted on 05/28/2023 4:11:27 PM PDT by nickcarraway

Carlin "Carly" Sacco of Pendleton died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 20, 2023, after suffering a complication related to a blood clot that developed after she broke her ankle earlier in April. Her death came as a shock to her entire family. She was 34 years old.

"I got a call the night she died from her sister-in-law, she was hysterical, she'd told me that Carly had passed away," said Stevie Sacco, Carly's mother. "I talked to several people that had talked to Carly the day she died."

Carly suffered what her mother described as a "really bad break" of her ankle, and had previously been warned by doctors that she was at risk of developing blood clots.

"She had an issue with blood clots before, she's supposed to be on blood thinners," Stevie said. "She had some concerns about it, I had to talk her out of being afraid. The truth is, she was afraid of it."

Carly's susceptibility to blood clots was discovered when she was in a car accident when she was young, becoming apparent alongside other health issues the crash caused.

"Apparently while she was recovering from the broken ankle, a blood clot broke loose and either went up to her heart of her lungs," Stevie said.

Carly is survived by her five children, the youngest of which is 18 months old, and her fiance, Rashad Cooper.

Maj. DeWayne Halstad of the Pendleton Salvation Army started a GoFundMe page for Cooper and the children. According to Halstad, Carly's fiance has not worked in the last month because he was home taking care of her and their little boy.

"He is in desperate need of some financial assistance to pay the bills until he is able to get back to work," according to the statement on the GoFundMe page. "And I think it would be nice to set a little money aside for the children for their education in the future. Carly was very much into continuing her education. So my goal is to get enough to buy each child a $1,000 savings bond to use for their education and for a little extra for Rashad to be able to pay his bills and be able to start his life over now."

Carly's church leaders and The Salvation Army in Pendleton banded together to assemble a fundraiser for the benefit of Carly's children, Stevie said, which came as a surprise to her.

"Carly's children meant more to her than anything in the world," Stevie said. "She loved being a mother, and she loved education."

Stevie said the loss of Carly has shocked and devastated her entire family, and in many cases her loved ones are processing the reality that Carly is gone.

"I know I'm not doing good," Stevie said. "I've been sobbing for days, not sleeping, not eating. My parents are in their 80s, and I've never seen my father cry before this."

Stevie and Carly's father are divorces, with Stevie living in Texas, and Carly's father in Ohio. Stevie said both of them intend to fly out to Pendleton to attend Carly's celebration of life Wednesday, May 31, and to help the family get settled.

"Carly had a really rough adulthood, she ran away from home and had some really difficult years," Stevie said. "But she was very proud of the fact that she got herself together, went back to school, and not only earned her bachelor's degree, but she also earned two masters degrees in sports marketing. She was so proud of her continued education."

The GoFundMe page to help Carly's children and Cooper is at rb.gy/kx3vl.

Broken bones they clots before the pandemic. It is unusual, but not rare.

“””Broken bones they clots before the pandemic. It is unusual, but not rare.”””

thrombosis following surgery for a broken bone is a concern.

There was no need to play the ‘died suddenly’ card in this case.

Thanks for pointing out the facts that broken bones can throw clots.

It occurs to me that the “died suddenly” may be the Rapture.

The questioned not answered is was she on her blood thinners to not? If she had this known in here Medical records then did the doctors put her on medication to keep the blood clots from forming or at least give her medications to dissolve them. Lot of things not addressed in this article.

I take it you did not read the article. She had a history of blood clots going a long way back.

Unfortunately it’s not even that unusual. People with a leg fracture are often placed on blood thinners for a period after the fracture to prevent this. It sounds as if this woman had previous clots putting her even more at risk. Per the article she was supposed to be on blood thinners. The way it is written makes it sound like she wasn’t taking them. Definitely a tragedy but not vaccine related

Because the vax definitely does not cause clots, everyone knows that.

I had a PE after a surgery. It was in 2020 BEFORE the Covid “vaccines” came out. It does happen.

Here’s a great way to make your blood more viscous: stand barefoot on some wet grass for 30 minutes.

Aspirin works, too.

You probably mean: "less viscous". Viscosity is a fluid's resistance to flow.

He doesn’t like to read the articles. It’s quite odd how many things he has concurred with when the actually point the opposite way of which he hopes

So? None of them killed her before. What was the death rate of those people before the vaxx, and what is it now for those who are now vaccinated? If those rates are different to a statistically significant degree, it could still very well have been the vaxx after all.

There was a hint in that article that she wasn’t taking care of herself and might not have been taking medications, like Eliquis, to prevent clot problems.
