If Putin was running for president here I’d vote for him.
There is nothing more important than winning this culture war and he understands verbalizes it better than any of our politicos.
In terms of behavior Putin is just like other violent tyrants like Adolph Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, and Stalin.
Trying to make Putin look good by highlighting some of his statements, or some of his ideas, or even some of his actions is just like praising Hitler for supporting the production of the VW Beetle, or Mao for dramatically reducing drug addiction and homelessness in China, or Pol Pot for reducing the Cambodian government budgets for administrative staff.
Occasionally evil tyrants say something that sounds like a good idea. But they are still evil tyrants.
If you think Putin's vision of the world is the way forward you are just as wrong as the people who thought Adolph Hitler's work on improving the German economy meant he was a good leader for them. But you have less of an excuse for being fooled than they did.

It’s a start. In this culture war we need all the allies we can get.
