A runaway cow was spotted sprinting down Interstate 75 in Holly, Michigan on Sunday before it was wrangled and returned to greener pastures. Michigan State Police shared a clip of the dramatic pursuit of the farm animal, which involved wranglers on horses and four-wheelers, on Twitter. The department edited the nearly two-minute-long clip for theatrical flair, adding country western-sounding stock music to the entertaining video’s background. Troopers responded to a traffic control request around 2:50 p.m. along I-75 near Belford Road in the village of Holly, located about 15 miles south of Flint and 55 northwest of Detroit. A group was already out attempting to wrangle the escaped cow, chasing the creature as it weaved in and out of the brush alongside the freeway. Wranglers were on the shoulder of I-75 on horses and four-wheelers while they attempted to capture the sneaky farm creature, state police said. “The cow managed to outside its advisories and entered the northbound lanes of I-75. The wranglers chased the cow with four-wheelers, horses, and lassos across all lanes of travel,” police wrote on Twitter.

The video would have been better if it had been sped-up, and Yakety Sax had been playing in the background.
At the end of the video the cow was lassoed, yes and the rider took the cow over to the grassy median where the cow then jumped the divider fence. I wonder what happened after that?!
I wondered the same thing.
My sound was off.
not much on C&W, but that was pretty good
Do cows sprint?
During WWII we had a couple of milk cows, “Vicki” would sometimes run away up the road. Frank, a black man (as I remember, a hardworking decent person who worked for us) would go get her back. The neighbors would let us know by phone when she was running up the road.
Love the photo.
Thanks for posting.
Worked at a packing plant as a delivery person. Since we came in early, we had to help roundup about two dozen cows that got out of their pen. Able to herd most of them back to their pen but one. Humane society had to dart her. They use pure nicotine. She had to stay quarantined for a week before they could butcher her.
I’ve been thinking about that exact photo a lot lately, ever since Lurch said confiscating American farms is a possibility.
Did they whip her with their reins?
That was bloody insane. I don’t want to armchair quarterback there, but...when the guy on the ATV steered the animal towards the CENTER of the highway with traffic zooming by in the opposite direction...
I swore someone going the other way was going to have a head-on with that animal.
Well, it all turned out okay, but...wow.
LOL
