A Florida woman was charged with two counts of battery after allegedly tossing a glass of wine at hard-right Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) during a private event, local police confirmed Tuesday—the latest attack on a member of Congress.
Local police in Walton County—part of the Florida Panhandle—arrested 41-year-old Selena Jo Chambers Saturday night, after she allegedly threw wine at both Gaetz and his wife at the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival, a private event Gaetz was attending with his wife in the coastal resort town of Sandestin, east of Pensacola.
She was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of battery against an elected official, a felony in Florida, according to local records—though Chambers told police she slipped and accidentally poured her drink on Gaetz, the Pensacola News Journal reported.
Gaetz, a controversial fourth-term Florida Republican, said he chose to press charges, arguing in a video captioned “When Leftist Winos Attack” that by allowing “stuff to be thrown or hurled,” there is a “severe risk of escalation and accident.”

Lock her up!
It’s an assault.
The article failed to mention that these assaults on Congressmen are on Republicans, NOT demonrats, and that they are incited by the inflammatory rhetoric on the demonrat propaganda outlets, which is virtually all of the Establishment media.
“Hard right” lololol
It’s funny how you almost never see conservatives attacking leftist politicians.
“ It’s funny how you almost never see conservatives attacking leftist politicians.”
The way things are going it could just be a matter of time.
Hard right? Pretty sure this is a few weeks old but another example of hate for an opposing viewpoint from “ultra lefties”.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Idiots.
HARD RIGHT!
> hard-right Rep. Matt Gaetz <
“Hard-right”? Really? The author just couldn’t help throwing his personal opinions into his news article. So much for modern journalism.
Has this author - or Forbes - ever described folks like AOC as “hard-left”? I doubt it.
“Gaetz, a controversial fourth-term Florida Republican,....”
Notice that it is only Republicans who are described as “controversial”. For democrats, the corporate media always refers to them in terms such as “well-respected”, “popular” or other such positive description.
Liberals have such a hard time controlling their emotions. I can understand why they have such a fear of firearms. For they know that in their hands they are likely to shoot someone for simply disagreeing with them on a minor issue.
Liberals are mentally ill. The sooner they are all disenfranchised, the sooner this nation can begin rebuilding from the destruction they have caused.
Did you notice that the “reporter” claims to have made his bones by “reporting” on the environment and the arts?
Then he asks you to send him a tip (I assume he means money, not a lead on a subject to investigate.)
Another woman in 2019 was sentenced to 15 days in prison and fined $500 after throwing a slushy at Gaetz at a campaign event. Amanda Kondrat’yev, the 35-year-old accused of tossing a red slushy at the congressman, pleaded guilty to assault charges and admitted to throwing it.
Icee what she did there.
Goetz as “hard right”.
I’m used to it but still odd how conservatives are aways referred to with descriptors like “hard”, “far”, “extreme”, “militant” etc.
Take Democrat Cori Bush who just called for what? 14 TRILLION in reparations?
That’s nothing but pure EXTREMISM.
This is how Forbes described HER as opposed to Matt Goetz in the latest issue she was covered in: “ Progressive left-wing Firebrand Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-Mo.)”.
Not extreme or HARD she is progressive. You know advocation, working forward, progress. Also Firebrand makes me think a fighter, brave, heroic.
FAKE news or MSM sickens me in their propaganda that I would guess 3/4 of Americans are oblivious to.
What’s the problem? the press routinely refers to AOC, Sanders, and scores of there as “hard left.” Oh… wait a minute…
When I was 20 and overseas in the Navy that wasn’t dream. Women throwing wine at me.
Was my dream. Was my dream.
Damm autocorrect.
