Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has filed to divorce her husband of two decades, according to court records obtained Tuesday by The Daily Beast.
The April 25 filing seeks to dissolve her marriage to Jayson Boebert, with whom she shares four sons. An affidavit of service, also obtained by The Daily Beast, indicate that Jayson Boebert appeared to be caught off guard by the court proceedings. He chased away a process server with an expletive-laden tirade and let his dogs loose when he was served with the divorce papers, the affidavit said.
“Once he learned that he was being served with Dissolution of Marriage papers he was extremely angry,” the process server wrote. “I tried to hand him the documents but [he] did not take them. He started yelling and using profanities, and told me that I was trespassing, and that he was calling the Sheriff’s Office. I told him I was leaving the documents on the chair outside of the door, he closed the door then let the dogs out.”
The document noted that Jayson was cleaning a gun and drinking a “tall glass of beer” when he was served.
Boebert, who has repeatedly spoken of the importance of “family values” in her short political career, told The Daily Beast in a statement Tuesday that the divorce was due to “irreconcilable differences.”
“It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband,” the statement said. “I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process. I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult."

Divorce used to be illegal. People were trapped in horrible situations for life.
Yes, Maybe Jayson has been jumping the ski bunnies. She’s not around, he gets lonely. Who knows?
I hated requesting a divorce. As horrible as it was it was better than the marriage of 25 years. Waited until the children were adults.
Women are almost ALWAYS the ones who initiate the divorce. This mostly happens in western countries when the government takes the role of sugar daddy.
WTH are you even talking about?
Buzz off with your accusation post.
No one knows....except the parties involved.
Prayers for the kids.

Translation: I found someone else.
70 percent of divorces are initiated by the wife.
Well, I’m an exception to that. I most certainly did not have a “B” waiting in the wings, if that’s what you mean. When you’re married to a nutcase, and should never have married him in the first place, sometimes you just have to leave. It’s one of the things that happens when you get married when you’re still too young to have any sense.
Yes divorce is sad.
A lot of people have had amicable divorces and taken good care of their children. And some have had no choice but divorce, amicable or not.
Do you think a woman should stay with a man who beats her (or her children), or a man should stay with a woman who overcharges and runs him into debt, gets in trouble with the Law, is generally completely irresponsible - and destroys his reputation?
Some things you just can’t live with, and trying to do it is NOT good for kids.
It was very unusual in the early 1950s for a man to be given custody of the children in a divorce. But that’s what happened with my Dad. It was a great blessing for all of us. We never knew or missed our mother.
And we don’t know what’s gone on between Boebert and her husband.
“Women don’t leave “A” without a “B”.”
You’ve GOT THAT RIGHT! By the time a husband finds out his wife is dissatisfied, she has nearly always had “Sancho” hiding in the woodpile for quite some time.
I think you provided an adequate explanation of being an outlier.
exactly
Abused woman I used to work with would be dead women if divorce were illegal. Divorce is a scourge. Assault, battery, and homicide are worse.
“Sarah Palin, part deux.”
Except that Todd divorced Sarah.
Other than that, you’re right.
“Women are almost ALWAYS the ones who initiate the divorce.”
That could be true. When Hubby is screwing his secretary and/or knocking her around, she should resist the temptation to kick him to the curb. Makes perfect sense.
