A fight over apartment noise resulted in an Upper Darby woman being stabbed Sunday morning.
Township police were called to Barclay Square Apartments about 10:50 a.m. for the report of a fight in progress. While responding, the call was upgraded to a stabbing.
According to the affidavit of probable cause:
Police arrived to find a woman out front of H building who told them she was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher during a dispute with her neighbor.
She gave her name as Terry Johnson and police detained her as they investigated the incident.
In the second floor hallway, police found a woman with stab wounds to her upper chest and left shoulder, who was going in and out of consciousness. Medics arrived and rushed her to Lankenau Hospital where she was taken into the operating room for surgery.
Before she was transported, the victim told police that Terry Johnson stabbed her.
A witness told police there had an ongoing issue with noise coming from his neighbor’s apartment.
That morning he banged on the ceiling with a broom because of the noise from that upstairs apartment. A few minutes later a person banged on his door. He videoed the events on his cellphone as he opened the door. It was his upstairs neighbor asking why he was banging on the ceiling.
At that point the witness’s mother, Cherie Webb, 48, a resident of Nassau Road in Philadelphia, stepped in and a fight began. The witness told police the two women pulled each other’s hair and were fighting in the hallway.
Eventually, Webb broke free and returned to her apartment. When the witness looked back he saw blood in the hallway and that the other woman was bleeding.
The witness agreed to allow police to review his cellphone video. It showed the scene play out and police heard his mother state, “I’m about to knock you the … out.”
The video showed Webb exit the apartment and grab the victim’s hair before the video ended.
During their investigation police located in the stairwell a bloody, black-handled knife with a silver blade, broken at the tip.
At police headquarters officers determined Terry Johnson was Cherie Webb,
She had blood on her clothing and they arrested her.
She was charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, false identification to law enforcement, possession of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.
She was arraigned by District Judge Kelly A. Micozzie-Aguirre with bail set at $500,000, which she was unable to post, and was committed to the George Hill Correctional Facility pending a April 28 preliminary hearing.
Stabbing is an upgrade? I wonder what clubbing or shooting might do to increase the value of the call.

When I had an upstairs neighbor it would drive me up the wall. The people walked around like Neanderthals and banged doors, constantly on top of my head no matter what room I was in. Played loud bass music and had a sound bar on the TV that sounded like an earthquake. I honestly felt like beating the s**t out of those people and would bang the ceiling myself which would resolve it for a few hours before it started again. Some people just live like animals with no regards for others.
These two put up a mixh better fight than the loser Embiid. He sucks.

Heh. To get away from those animals you have to relocate to the country where there’s lots of other animals, but none that commit crimes!

I have only lived in an apartment briefly when in Texas. I can fully understand stabbing someone over constant noise.

Todd Rundgren as well. Upper Darby has never been the nicest place but it has gotten worse over the past 30-40 years or so.
My daughter, SIL and grandson, were in their first floor apartment sleeping, around 4 AM Saturday 5/13, when glass began raining down on them. Someone opened up through the windows with an AR. My SIL, was grazed on his scalp, otherwise just tore up the house. Tacoma, WA close to Pt Defiance Park.
It didn’t even make the paper, the Police asked nobody questions. Just said “You are lucky to be alive”. This was likely triggered because an 18 month toddler was walking between the buildings, with nobody in sight. Nobody could find the parents. They called it in to the Police, CPS got involved. As the cops left, two black males came out and acted different than concerned neighbors. They crossed their arms, staring straight at my family, and mean mugged them. They jumped into a minivan, drove away, and were back within a minute or two. The Toddler was black. Because of friends who work for the State, the Mother was found to be 42 years old, has other children, but does not have custody of them. This was a warning, or worse. THIS is how our country is in 2023. Thank you governors for opening up the prisons, letting all get out because of Covid. It is a much better place today..../S Baby Daddy gotta play protector...
