I’ve been watching the Trump vs. DeSantis showdown here and have a few questions. I voted for Trump twice, worked the phones and poll watched for him and am convinced he was the only one for regular Americans. He had the right policies for us. I have two concerns. He is supposedly a germaphobe and I think that influenced his decisions regarding Covid. He also didn’t have a team behind him. Many stabbed him in the back. How would it be different if he was elected for another term?
Regarding Desantis, I watched some of his Iowa stuff and he seems to say the right things. He may even be to the right of Trump on some issues. He also seems to have a good argument about what he’s done in Florida. He doesn’t have Trump’s suburban housewife baggage (who my wife of 31 yrs asked how many times Trump’s been married - she voted for him and we’re not voting for a Pope) but I’m sure they’ll come up with something to hang on him. I know that many have said that he’s beholden to big donors.
I’m on team fight it out for the nomination, After that, I’m on team how do you fix the rig and how do you win I haven’t heard any of that from anyone.

You’re forgetting that some of those cabinet posts have interim/acting posts written into the law. The AG post, for example, doesn’t stay vacant if nobody is appointed. The Deputy AG takes over on an interim basis if the AG is fired or resigns.
And I know Trump is inclined to leave some executive branch posts vacant because he did it for some posts while he was President. The five-member U.S. Surface Transportation Board, for example, only had two members for much of Trump’s term because he couldn’t bother naming any replacements when terms were expiring.
If that’s the standard you’re using, then DeSantis should be disqualified from ever holding public office just for imposing lockdowns in the first place. South Dakota governor Kristi Noem should be your candidate — because she’s the only one who never locked her state down.
You won’t find a single lockdown order anywhere with Donald Trump’s name on it.
I don’t know about Chip Roy, but Massie has been one of the worst open-borders advocates in Congress for years. He just came out and publicly opposed the House immigration bill’s E-Verify requirement for employers.

I don’t recall the issue a few months ago, but I never trusted him after that. Seems like an attention whore — a performer.
It is becoming more and more doubtful that DeSantis is even going to run at this point. It has become increasingly clear that he stands no chance against Trump and the talk is that he will wait until 2028 to run.
I liked DeSantis immensely until it seemed he’s the agent of the deepstate sent to take down Trump.

DeSantis says that his candidacy is, although the little ingrate wants to remind everyone that he is not a candidate so far, but then the little ingrate then adds that his candidacy is the “positive alternative to Trump.”
And then, the DeSantis-bots here mindlessly claim that Descantimonious, the Eight Day Creation, Mr. Courage, is too noble hearted to attack Trump. That attack is, by the way, an Attack From The Lett!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all the folks who say Trump in 24 and DeSantis in 28,32 - Wishful thinking and too idealistic. Politics is about the here and now and is very unpredictable in the short term, let alone 4 or 8 years from now. The problems we face as a nation are acute, gravely serious and are capable of doing us in - no borders, inflation, flagging national pride. Who has the best chance of defeating the evil, cheating bastards in 2024? That is who has my vote.
