Poise under pressure and the ability to quickly diagnose a play are hallmarks of a great MLB catcher. On Monday night Mike Zunino helped record the most legendary out of the season by firing a pinpoint accurate throw to second — right into the nuts of Akil Baddoo.

Whether this was “right place, right time” or “wrong place, wrong time” is all a matter of perspective. Baddoo was trying to steal second, and the penalty for this in Cleveland is getting hit in the nuts. Zunino didn’t make the rule, he just enforced it.

Classic case of adding insult to injury. or as another said it:

“Pain and humiliation is always amusing when it happens to someone else.”

There is something about being hit in the stones that brings out the ribald humor in people, especially men.

If you ever watch some kind of event, a hockey game, softball, you name it...when a guy takes one in the gonads, the response by the males is very similar...

They gather around, shift nervously from foot to foot, and make stupid jokes about it, but you can tell...each guy feels the pain!

It is why "Ow! My Balls" would absolutely be the most popular television show were it to actually air!

I love that movie, by the way. In more ways than I can relate...
