Long after covid ceased to be a “thing,” and long after we’ve learned that all the rules were wrong, people in the SF Bay Area won’t let go of their masks.
Memo to all: WHO has ended the Pandemic. You are now free to take off your mask and leave the darn thing off. Unless, like so many here in the sunny Bay Area, you’re (a) going to commit a crime and don’t want your face showing, or (b) are among the “vaccinated and multi-boosted” who seem to cling to the mask as a talisman, perhaps the better not to worry what ill health will befall them next.
I know the rest of the country isn’t necessarily like this, but here we seem stuck in a twilight zone of willful masking, most notably among our large Asian population, but also very strikingly among the heavily indoctrinated teenage population. I see people struggling to breathe behind cloth or paper/plastic nosebags in stores, offices, in their cars, in the gym, and walking on the street. Will this latest news flash from WHO change that? I can only hope!
The talisman aspect can’t be denied. The sad fact is that the “vaccinated” and “boosted” are far more susceptible to COVID (and death, and so many other ills, small and large) than those of us who eschewed the jab.
Pressure to keep masking is surprising. I talked with a checkout clerk I have known for years at my favorite independent grocer. He said he’d had to get vaccinated to work, like so many others. I asked why he was wearing a mask. His answer shocked me. He said he needed his job, had a child to raise, and workers who take their masks off at that store don’t get shifts on the schedule...

A lot of this is just virtue signaling for DUmmies.
I very rarely see a mask in my area anymore. Not on any ethnicities.
Weird how clinging to those nasty things seems to be regional.
😷😷😷😂😂😂. Well, I asked at the VA yesterday if the masks requirements would be going away on 5/11. The tech chuckled and said nope! Most of the folks agree it’s a waste. If they work in an office none rqd. In the hallways and you work in an office, you’re okay. Patients not in a room? 😷. Stoopidness continues. 🤔
the good news is that those who still wear them will become darwin award recipients- mask wearing is possibly being linked to brain damage, and since they all started off on the low end of the intelligence bar, they will become a self limiting group soon enough and we wont have to suffer their insufferable self-righteous wokeness-
Stupid Maskerbaters get off on wearing a mask. I just laugh at them and shake my head. Just waiting for one to confront me.
I tested positive for COVID earlier this week. I had to postpone a doctor appointment for yesterday. Now it’s next Fri., and they asked me to bring a mask.
Mask was required at my optometrist office a few weeks ago. Even Uber has dropped the mask requirement for some time now. 😷😂
Needless to say I still didn’t like wearing it.
Lotta people still mask in my area but they don’t call it”Behind the redwood curtain” for nothing. They love the propaganda and their little Namaste virtue signaling. COEXIST baby.
One person at my workplace continues wearing N95 masks. Naturally ,a staunch supporter of all things Demoncratic.
When I travel to the liberal city next door, I still see even bicyclists masked up in their little blue paper masks as they pedal away breaking most of the traffic laws while they do so. I also see pedestrians walking down the sidewalks, all alone but dutifully masked as if virus droplets are awaiting to attack them on the next corner.
The pandemic broke a lot of people on the left. It gave many the power to dictate to others, while some found it so handy to have others dictate to them their daily actions and what they were allowed or not allowed to do. I do not think the country will ever recover from the harm caused over the past three years. There was a great shift in the view of many as to individuality and personal freedom.
Or maybe they just recognize that crowded cities are petri dishes. Or the realize the city smells. Japanese wear masks all the time. Stop fretting about what other people do that don’t effect you. Their lives, their choices.
Stop fretting about what other people do that don’t effect you. Their lives, their choices.

Perhaps. But it’s also a likely possibility that these mask-wearers are so indoctrinated that if the Deep State suddenly comes on TV and the Internet and tells these mind-numbed zombies that anyone who doesn’t mask or aren’t vaxxed are The Enemy.
They order them to report or even attack those who don’t mask. I wouldn’t put it past.tjem.
Who care? Insulting them isn’t gonna fix that either. You don’t know their life. I’ve got a friend that had multiple organ transplants. With all the immunity suppression drugs that implies, he wear a mask a lot. Before COVID and now. Cause any cold could kill him.
If they ain’t bitchin at you, don’t bitch at them. Really, simple way to go through life.
Re: VA and masks
Do they still require patients who aren’t sick (with cold/flu/covid) to wear them ?
The two certainly do seem to go hand in hand, don’t they?
I don’t let myself be “tested”
“They love the propaganda and their little Namaste virtue signaling. COEXIST baby.”
Namaste back at you. What is interesting is that plenty of health and exercise and organic oriented liberals got the vaxxx and boosters. They trusted>>>
The media brainwashing (they trusted the garbage on their TVs)
They trusted the Federal agencies such as CDC
They trusted Anthony Fauci (may his name be cursed)
They trusted smiling, smirking, crazy Bill Gates.
“If they ain’t bitchin at you, don’t bitch at them. Really, simple way to go through life.”
That’s what the homos said. Now look where we’re at.
Naw, you give stupid a pass and in a few decades it’ll be crawling up your ass.
Nobody is wearing masks anymore. You see one here and there and that’s fine. In the middle of flu season I’ve been known to wear one to Costco because its a Petri dish. Of course then I eat the free samples and God knows who’s hands have been in that Bush’s dip before mine. 😏
