TOYOTA WILL CONTINUE COMMITMENT TO MULTI-PATHWAY APPROACH
While the rest of the car industry has advanced plans to exit the internal combustion engine - ICE, Toyota strongly reaffirms its intention to expand its hybrid offerings, especially in Southeast Asia.
Toyota's "Multi-pathway Approach" has a BEV component but also HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles), PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) and FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles). Note that HEVs derive all of their power from use of gasoline. They have a small battery which gets charged by the gasoline internal combustion engine. PHEVs have a small battery which can be charged with electricity, but once this small distance has been traveled, the car then uses gasoline for motoring. FCEVs are hydrogen powered.
Toyota loves to promote the concept of "choice" and for the next few years this means giving customers who want to purchase a BEV the choice to change brands.

EV’s are a dead end. Lithium deposits will run out long before fossil fuels.

In the electric vehicle competition Toyota is yet to register.
Toyota makes the BZ4E, which is a true EV, not a hybrid. If you want an electric Toyota, you can have one. Almost everybody who wants a Toyota wants an ICE or Hybrid version.

Tesla is confident of a 50% reduction in manufacturing costs and plans are well in train to produce a quality $25,000 BEV. [ . . .] By that time Tesla will have a $25,000 BEV
The author effortless glides from "Tesla is confident" to "Tesla will have". Unless Tesla is assuming massive government subsidies, it ain't gonna happen. They aren't stupid enough to make a Leaf Jr., or to cannibalize sales from cars that make money for them. They are happy to over-promise.

Investors might re-think what this means. Yes. Strong future for Toyota.
I'm all-in with Toyota. My last four vehicles have been Toyotas and I really couldn't imagine driving anything else.
I only wish they offered a coupe. Something like a 2-door Corolla with a sports package. I know they have the GR86 but that's more of a sports car.
Looking for something sporty and economical to keep the miles low on my 2015 Tacoma 4x4 as it's the last year of the far superior Gen-2s.

Seeking Alpha is Seeking Acceptance. Toyota is just being smart. Governments are not the engines of innovation. Quite the opposite. They are engines of corruption and all they can do is make rules and accept bribes to not enforce them. Ultimately there will be tea parties and guillotines.

I salute the top dog at Toyota - Captain Obvious.
Electric vehicles will soon be forever regarded as the world’s most foolhardy undertaking.
World history will have an entire volume on this titled:
“What Were They Thinking?”
Electric vehicles - Several Hours to Charge, Weeks to Extinguish Once They Spontaneously Catch on Fire Without Warning.
In February 2022, The 656-foot ship, “Felicity Ace,” sank in the Atlantic Ocean while carrying 4,000 brand new luxury vehicles, including Porsches, Volkswagens, Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Audis, sailing from Emden, Germany to Davisville, Rhode Island.
A fire started aboard the ship and was caused by an electric vehicle. The fire could not be extinguished.
The entire crew abandoned ship and the fire eventually burned through the steel hull sending the ship to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. $400 million dollars worth of brand new cars and the massive ship were lost forever due to the runaway fire.
The worldwide push for electric vehicles proves there is no intelligent life on planet Earth.

We will see more headlines like this.
ICEs will be made and sold in free states and the communists will be left will the failed EVs.

Low cost of fossil fuel equals low cost of producing and supplying food.
Moving away from that, means increasing the cost of producing and supplying food.
Reducing the supply of fossil fuel, will make the supply more unique (egs., reducing locations), significantly increasing the cost of producing and supplying food.

It's getting too late for Toyota to enter the BEV transformation race. Investors might re-think what this means. It means the Japs will have a monopoly on the market for vehicles that people want and work and are dependable. They aren't idiots.

I always discuss the transition to fully electric cars. We all know todayâs issues facing pure EVâs. Using a Hybrid car generates a 40% saving in fuel usage TODAY! That would of been a great 1st step, all vehicles become hybrid. That buys us time to work on the next logical step. Going from fossil fuel directly to little children in the Congo mining Cobalt is not a plan for success. Did anyone ask how many children does the Congo have? Have we reached Peak Congolese Children?
The next issue is that 30% of car workers are no longer needed in a pure EV manufacturing process. The Germans who have a massive, very important to Germanyâs economy, export driven automobile industry. The light bulb when on, âwhat to do with 250,000 workers no longer neededâ? The social costs become a major issue. So Germany gets the EU to allow ICE engine using a âspecial new fuelâ. That is a transition plan forced out of desperation the Germans faced with all of suddenly massive unemployment problem and cost. What to know why GM is laying off workers? Think of their march to becoming an EV manufacturer. Somehow I do not think they will finish this transition. Time will tell.

This entire ‘electric car’ thing is just a new way to force a per mile tax on all vehicles as EV DO NOT pay fuel taxes.
Get ready for a black box upgrade to your car in the future.
Stay STRONG Toyota!
