In New York the DA is too busy trying to take down Trump. He has no time for those pesky murder cases.

Prisons are basically warehouses. We put violent criminals in prison for their violent years. By the time they hit 40 their testosterone and violence levels drop. And, they are much safer in society.

Aha, now I get it. Crime is merely a matter of perception so there is nothing to worry about.🤔

It is true that there has been some substantial increase in crime in my area (Greenwich Village), particularly in shoplifting. This increase has followed some recent criminal justice “reforms,” notably limitations on the use of bail requirements to hold accused criminals pending trial. However, the rates of serious crimes, and particularly violent crimes, remain very low in my area, and indeed in most of this city and most other cities.

I think it was 2 years ago that Rick Moranis got sucker punched outside his Central Park west home. When a moderately famous retired actor gets punched in the Central Park west neighborhood then all of Manhattan is dangerous. There is no other way to look at it.

Heck Manhattan was safer in the 70's with the sex shops in Times Square and the hookers on 7th Avenue.

How often does this guy ride the Subways?

The City was safer under Mayor Dinkins, than the current and previous yahoo mayors. It's unfortunate because I loved visiting NYC and may never go back in my lifetime. I'm sure I am not alone in that assessment.

Finally the fact that you have to write this article in the first place means you know NYC is bad. Wasn't it Shakespeare who wrote: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"?

“What rural and suburban readers may be missing is an understanding of the extent to which serious and violent crime is concentrated in a handful of quite small areas.”

What the author is afraid to say is that the vast majority of violent crime is confined to black communities. In Chicago for instance, if one factors out a dozen or so neighborhoods the violent crime rate drops for the city as a whole to almost nothing.

This pattern repeats all over America.

But even whispering this fact will get one branded as racist.

And being racist is the worst thing ever.

Crime and murder rates have skyrocketed since the Dung Beetles decided to shut down all law enforcement and allow the criminals to run the streets again. Blaming it on guns is the dumbest friggin’ thing people can do. The explosion in the murder rate can be placed squarely in the lap of the DNC knuckle dragging Neanderthals. They needed to create this explosion of violence to get their turd rolling azzes elected. Does any real American think that what is going on at our borders is a good thing for America? If you do, you really need to get off the recreational drugs and start seeing a few shrinks. You have serious mental issues.
