You can't even make this stuff up.
The FDA just approved a pill to fight Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) that is literally just filled with other people's poop.
C. diff is a particularly nasty bacteria that results in uncontrollable diarrhea and is responsible for 30,000 to 40,000 deaths in the United States every year.
Most cases of C. diff occur after someone has been on antibiotics for an extended period, wiping out all the naturally occurring bacteria in their gut, allowing C. diff to propagate unabated.
The new pill called Vowst has fecal matter from healthy people and is full of the helpful bacteria that the antibiotics killed off.
Compared to placebo in a double-blind trial it was pretty effective: only 12% on Vowst had C. diff reoccur versus 39% on the placebo.
That's great and all, but mainlining other people's fecal matter just seems unclean.
If I have to do it, I'd rather just have some Ezekiel bread.

The bugs don’t sound so bad now, do they.
Will make for some pretty raunchy smelling (and tasting) belches, that’s for sure...
A stool transfer from a healthy person will cure a person with Cdiff. And stool transfers had to be done in the hospital before now.
Google "Fecal transplants C-diff" and you will be taken to various medical sites like Johns Hopkins where there are curing people of this very very difficult infection to overcome.
Poop injections/suppositories have been around for a long time.
It replaces the dead bacteria with the living stuff that helps you digest.
Who thinks this is just a hoax played by libtards in the medical industry who have a bet over how many will swallow poop based on their recommendation?
This was new at the time and was next on the list for my solutions.
Do you remember the name of the antibiotic?
What a bunch of sh!t.
Yes.
I’ll stick with probiotic yogurt, thanks.
ESAD, the sages tell us...
I just read an article about babies being born via c-section, not getting the bacteria a child would receive via a vaginal birth. It was very interesting.
That’s interesting. I have never heard that.
But it is quite possible.
“What does not kill me, makes me stronger.”
“Dirty child is a healthy child. “
Making live sterile is causing a lot of problems for many.
Despite liberals always arguing for cleaner air and arguing by citing increase of asthma cases, I have read that the increase in asthma cases is mostly triggered by air too clean.
I have mild asthma and have lived in clean environment part of my live, suffering quite badly, while living in very polluted cities made me a lot better!
Excess retinol contributes to allergies.
I’m imagining some coworkers at Pfizer getting caught in the breakroom having some nasty “sexy time” shenanigans, so they had to come up with this whole thing to prove it was “for research”.
‘Thanks’ for the visual. I’m off to find some Visine to wash out my mind’s eye.
I wonder if the instructions on the label say “Do not chew.”?............... 🤦♂️
