Social media is proof that the story of Narcissus is true. We have raised an entire generation of people who believe they should be the center of attention.

2 pizzas would have been better, but he did not show up empty handed. She’s just being way too judgmental.

I don’t care what you say, a single dish of lime jello with little marshmallows in it will be fine for 40 people with some left over.

I have the best way. I don’t attend them. I have better luck with my pot at home. See when you go to one of these uh, events, you run into snitty snivelers who whine about your offerings.

The general rule I follow for pot luck dish size is "somewhat more than I could eat in one sitting". Then double that if you're a couple providing one dish.

She’s a dunce, and should be kicked out of all future potlucks. And maybe have a pie smashed in her face, followed by four more pies.

What did she bring? Did she bring enough for everyone?
To: nickcarraway
I would probably take my pizza and go home.

For several years I led a group that among other things hosted a potluck once a year for 200 people. My rules were very clear. If you call and ask me what you’re supposed to bring, I hang up on you.
I don’t care what you bring.

“I’m saying maybe more than one pizza that one person, maybe two, can eat off of.” Was it a single serving pizza (in which case she has a point) or was the guest list teenage boys? (in which case she may also have a point)

Depends on how big the pizza was. Large or extra large fine. If he brought a mini or a small, she is right to call him out.

My mom always said that the LEAST you bring to a pot luck is a little more than two people could eat.
The concept being that, if everyone does this, there is twice as much food as needed.
One is not required to bring enough food for EVERYONE to eat. That would be stupid. Twenty people each bringing enough food for twenty people to eat would be enough to feed 400 people!

My wife and I attended a Super Bowl party a few years back and took 1 pizza, we didn’t realize he’d invited like 50 people, we were so embarrassed but our host was sooo gracious and it was if our little social faux paux never happened. Some people are cool, some are jerks, even before the internet
