If you're thinking of picking up a new iPhone later this year you should probably think again if rumors of a new, higher price are to be believed. Especially if you had your eye on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Historically the most expensive iPhone of all, the Pro Max is reportedly going to break new ground and become the most expensive iPhone ever when the iPhone 15 series is announced this September. That's according to a new report by China's United Daily News.
According to that report the iPhone 15 Pro Max will cost as much as RMB 20,000 which works out to be around $2,900 at the current exchange rate. To put that into perspective the iPhone 14 Pro Max currently sells for $1,099 in its 128GB configuration. Even the range-topping 1TB model sells for just $1,599. The prospect of Apple increasing the price so much is, frankly, insane. But that's what the report is claiming.

The first day available, the lines will be out the door and around the mall. They usually have to have store employees in charge of lines. It’s crazy! I’d suspect it will be the same this time. I’m fine with my IPhone 11. I’ve had two. My first an IPhone 4S and I had it five years until it literally wouldn’t work anymore.
... and that banana phone cost $3/ minute to use.
The mall?
lol...
The first thing I thought of, is that it was FUD. 👍
We can’t even get T-Mobile where we are. Heck, we can barely get Verizon even though they say we have coverage in our area.
We’ve had friends over who use T-Mobile and they simply cannot make a call from our house. No signal at all.
Check your liver(s) first! Our female friend had issues with her livers failing, was on dialysis while on a list for a liver transplant. Her boyfriend offered one of his to her. At the hospital during a check to see if he was a suitable candidate, it was found that he was born with only one liver. Yep, it happens to some people. He could not be a donor candidate. Thankfully, our friend received a transplant liver from someone else and is doing well.
I think I meant kidneys, oh well.
Oops. I meant store. But except for very few areas, the mall is dead!
Bet it will still do poorly with signal, too.
I split my time between the Silicon Valley / Santa Clara County area in the winter and North Idaho in the summer. T-Mobile sucks in both places. Really (I mean REALLY) bad. But it’s half the price of Verizon. The old adage “You get what you pay for” is very true.
LOL !!!
PERFECTION ..... !

Definitely FUD. Probably will be similar in price to the current 14 Pro Max. And, no one has a gun to anyone's head to buy it.
Prior to my moving to Alaska about 5 years ago, I lived in Idaho. Verizon had far and away the best (in the geographical sense) coverage, but wasn’t the fastest in the cities. Can’t speak for CA though.
I still have Verizon up here in AK, but am thinking about switching to AT&T- coverage is just better.
If you’re considering switching carriers, my advice is definitely to just ask around and get the opinions of regular folk. The carriers’ coverage maps are somewhere between optimistic and bald-faced lies, especially in steep terrain. AT&T is especially bad in that regard.
Good luck!
That’s an ELO song “2095” from their “Time” album.
