A little more than a month ago, I posted that I was likely to lose my job in a pretty decent Fortune 50 company.
Well, I am delighted to announce that I’m starting a new position as Software Engineering Lead at in that same company! This is an internal job change. I'm heading to a very profitable segment of the company so layoffs are unlikely in the foreseeable future!
And, I'm not so sure why I was worried. I actually got two competing job offers (internally).
Thanks to everyone who offered me support and suggestions during that uncertain time.

You wrote “I’m not so sure why I was worried.” I found it doesn’t matter how great a performer you are, you are always worried when the cuts come because cuts are not always logical and you never know who might have it in for you.
I’m happily retired and, as a survivor of similar situations several times, I can honestly say I do not miss that stress one bit. Of course, the only stress I have now is whether the money will last in this unexpected inflationary environment and will Brandon steal all my money with his proposed tax law changes.
At least in the corporate world, you have some control of your fate. You have far less control when FedZilla is targeting you.
