HomeCommentaryWATCH: SNL Releases Hilarious Skit Mocking Democrats’ Trump Derangement Syndrome Following Indictment
Note: This article may contain commentary reflecting the author's opinion. Over the Easter weekend, Saturday Night Live (SNL) released a hilarious new skit mocking Democrats’ obsession over the Trump indictment that occurred earlier this week.
The clip, which has already received hundreds of thousands of views, features liberals obsessed with the news of Trump’s arrest so much so that the clip acts as a commercial for a fake app called “CNZen.”
“These days it’s hard to not feel stressed out and overwhelmed,” the skit begins. “Sure, Trump got indicted but now everyone is saying the case against him is weak and that he will never serve any jail time.”
“As someone whose entire personality is hating Donald Trump, you need more,” the fake ad mocks. “You need to feel calmed and reassured. You need the newest meditation app: CNZen. The app soothes the most militant liberals with sensual details from Trump’s arrest featuring your favorite CNN anchors and correspondents.”
The skit then goes on to show various CNN “anchors” mocking the journalists’ coverage of President Trump.
The skit goes on to explain that the fake app allows users to listen to Trump’s allies “desperately spiraling” and have the liberals be soothed to sleep on news of Trump facing consequences.
“Trump’s next court appearance won’t be until December,” the narrator said. “That’s why CNZen has a whole section of Trump indictment ASMR.”
“CNZen because you waited seven years for this indictment and you want every delicious detail,” the ad concluded, adding, “CNZen. In your mind, he’s already in jail.”
The rarely funny SNL seems to have actually gained some comedic chops back. This SNL skit is the perfect representation of how obsessed the left is with Donald Trump and while many laugh at the hyperbolic portrayal, it’s not far off from reality.
The SNL Skit:
The words “hilarious” and “SNL” will never belong in the same sentence.
Not until snl goes off the air......then it’ll be hilarious.
Having said that, I heard Lorne Michaels once vow that as long as he is alive snl would always be on air......he’s 78......so....
Was that Molly Shannon as Maggie Haberman?
Yes, I see she was the host.
if bragg got Trump for jaywalking
he would have made each step a separate crime
The skit could be characterized as "slightly ribbing" Trump-haters - no more!
Regards,
Would you mind defining the word “hilarious”? I’m missing something.
Sorry, but FR frowns upon changing original headlines of articles, which used the offending word.
My comment said it was worth a chuckle. If you didn't even get a chuckle out of it, then I apologize for the unrecoverable waste of 2 minutes and 36 seconds of your life.
Thanks.
I thought it was pretty good.👍
Nowhere near as funny as Dukakis after dark.
I hope Lorne Michaels goes out in a fetal position wondering where he went wrong and why he’s destined to the deepest pit of hell.
Classic Tim Conway - "The Dentist" from The Carol Burnett Show
(Tim Conway cracks Harvey Korman up. Harvey never had a chance.)
Most of the late 80s/early 90s SNL actors were fairly conservative.
You owe me those 2 minutes 36 seconds. Pay me on my deathbed.
You’d just use that extra 2 minutes and 36 seconds to hit you nurse one last time.
Not quite.
I'd use those 36 seconds, then wonder what to do with the extra 2 minutes.
