3.5 cups of broccoli, or some equivalent of other similar vegetables, keeps the doctor away from your gut.

Yeah, I have a lot of trouble believing that God intended for us to eat 3.5 cups of broccoli a day.
Unless, of course He was intending to punish us. Which we of course deserve. I’d rather go into slavery in Egypt.

How in the hell do you get a mouse to eat 3.5 cups of broccoli every day? Boiled soft with a little butter, but heck, I’D struggle with that every day.

I don’t mind broccoli, but there is no way I’m gonna eat 3-4 cups a day. No way.

I like broccoli, have it often. I just steam it. 3.5 cups would mean I couldn’t eat anything else. I’m small, weigh 110.
I really believe everyone has to adjust portion size to correspond with their personal size.
And you can squeeze lemon on anything you don’t really like. Trader Joe has a wonderful Soyaki sauce that works too. Basic food group in our house.

This seems really similar to other studies that I read, those studies indicated that you had to eat it raw in order to get the benefit though. Even steaming would destroy the benefit. Does that get indicated in this study or is it not mentioned?

Yeah right, if I was a cow, I could eat that much broccoli. Even a couple of stems give me flatulence. Iam doing fine on regular consumption of yogurt. My gut has no issues so long as I eat 4 table spoons of vanilla yogurt daily.

"Our research provides strong evidence that cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts should be part of a normal healthy diet." I eat that amount of cruciferous vegetables I would never catch a virus again because no one could stand to be around me.

Yeah, but it's just those little mouse cups...

I found that eating a lot of broccoli made a great difference in the health of my skin. I love asparagus and artichokes as well. Other green things? Brussel Sprouts, spinaches, and you know what they all have in common? They’re great with bacon.

Steaming doesn’t hurt it, but you need to drink the water left behind through dripping.

"I eat that amount of cruciferous vegetables I would never catch a virus again because no one could stand to be around me." I saw a book in the kids book section at Walmart today (I swear!) that explains why that is.

(The first thought I had when I saw that book among all the Easter books there, was that only boys would like reading that book. Then my second thought was that, unfortunately, none of them can read today.)

Add this to every other food with published health benefits. If you were to eat the required dose of each, you would weigh 800 pounds and die very young.

It reduces a percentage. You still get the benefits. If you can choose a juice to drink, like orange juice, drink it raw. Some foods are often consumed raw, for example, fruits and lettuce. Processing tomatoes doesn’t reduce one of its most beneficial components, its red color. Foods have more of the beneficial components than we need.

It will also keep me away from every room in the house except the bathroom.

I remember this book from when I was a child in Japan.

I giggled when I found it in English some time in the 90s.
And yes I did buy it for my kids.
The girls giggled but the boys down right howled with laughter.
