@RepThomasMassie
Trump endorsed swamp creature Paul Ryan for Speaker, which turned out to be a huge mistake. No Wall, No Obamacare repeal, No pro-2A. I was the only member of the GOP to vote against Paul Ryan, but there was no chance to defeat him once Trump endorsed him.

LYIN RYAN is a HUGE POS,Trump has made some of the worst mistakes in people which HAD EVERYTHING to do with the fall of his administration, I am chalking this up to being a political novice I hope he has taken this four years to learn who the utter DIRTBAG SCUM are on our side of the isle!!!
He’s not attacking Trump. He’s listing one of the reasons why he is endorsing DeSantis. If you look at his Twitter feed over the last 24 hours he listed additional reasons.
Nothing I posted there was false. DeSantis issued his first lockdown order on April 1, 2020 -- AFTER the "15 days to flatten the curve" ended.
As late as mid-June he was still giving press briefings where he and his chief health officer were clamoring about how many bars and restaurants they had shut down for violating lockdown orders.
You can't give the guy credit for doing things effectively when anyone with half a brain recognized the idiocy of those stupid lockdown orders from the very start. Who thought it was a good idea to close down small retail stores while allowing Walmart and Target to stay open and sell the same merchandise?
And what was the medical science behind forcing people to stay indoors while closing state parks and open spaces?
I think it's because conservatives are more likely to be principled people with a select number of "Hell, no!" issues that affect their voting habits.
It all adds up and the Good Book says:
“All Have Sinned”
The full story of COVID deserves to be told my blog starting summarizing news about five years back so I have a record of the last three years.
Republicans did bad things locking down like Mike DeWine in Ohio and promoting the COVID shots from Jim Justice in West Virginia to Brad Little in Idaho and so on.
Mike Pence led the COVID Task Force at the White House in 2020 and called Deborah Birx his “right arm”.
In 2020 Birx pushed mask orders and lockdowns including the infamous prohibition on large family gatherings before Thanksgiving and Christmas in Utah supported by outgoing GOP governor Gary Herbert and incoming GOP governor Spencer Cox.
Massie has his recollections of COVID I have mine Florida went both ways Miami-Dade other sections tougher than others.
DeSantis can be called out as one who restricted in 2020 did Birx-Pence tell him to and being less strict in 2021 as political ambitions beckoned him.
I do not support Trump, not conservative enough. I think Trump is a Democrat, not a Bolshekrat, but, a JFK Democrat. I think what Bolshekrats are worried about most, is that, he will take JFK votes with him.
I can give the guy credit for not maintaining the lockdowns as long as Trump/Fauci wanted them to. Florida lifted the mandates early (not the first, but one of the first) and proved it.
Trump/Fauci warned that lifting the mandates was not a good idea.
The chief health officer in Florida was ousted so DeSantis could install a less political one.
Lastly, DeSantis has said he regrets not being more forceful against Trump's lockdowns.
Oh, cry me a river. If he carried himself as a leader based on an unyielding commitment to freedom and liberty, then this would have been easy for him.
As I've said before ... a scenario where government officials who never miss a paycheck exercise power to shut down business establishments owned by law-abiding citizens is one of the most repulsive things I can imagine in America today.
We don't need career politicians and feckless @ssholes in the White House. Period.
Right, that’s kinda what I meant.
I think it’s good to be principled when you vote and say “Hell no!” to RINOs like Paul Ryan. But on too many of these threads, FReepers are arguing over who is worse - Trump, Massie, or DeSantis…
None of them are RINOs…
