The cult classic sci-fi drama “The X-Files” is poised for a “diverse” reboot, with “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler helming the show’s remake.

Good writing and good actors make for watchable shows.
Those seem to be a problem in Hollywood these days. Black X Files doesn’t sound interesting.
Reboots are the epitome of this countries culture. Not only can we not dream up new material- we take old good material and screw it up.
That’s just what Hollywood needs. Another flop.
We've been doing that since emancipation.
When I was a child in the ‘60’s I loved “I Spy” starring Robert Culp and Bill Cosby. One day while I was enjoying the show it suddenly dawned on me that I’d never seen a black man on TV before. Prior to that I hadn’t even noticed consciously, hey, he’s black! They may have been there, but I never noticed. I thought about it and realized the show was great and it had nothing to do with the “diversity.” It was well written, and the characters came across as authentic. That last bit, authentic, that’s what’s missing from all of the woke material. The characters in woke “entertainment” come across as Mary Sue’s, just there so the show runners can parade their wokeness. I can’t tell you the number of mixed-race couples on TV and how unappealing they are. Not because they are different races, but because the quantity of them and their inevitable sameness, black man/white woman, come across more as a political statement than a commercial. If there’s a white man he either doesn’t have a speaking role, which pays more, or he’s portrayed as an idiot. I’d keep a pad by the TV to write down products not to buy but in 99 percent of the cases I already don’t buy that product. I can’t wait for this idiocy to go away.
You got that right.
Acting.
I'd also recommend MrBallen.
Another clean channel with X-Files type stories. The host is a natural storyteller (and a former Navy SEAL, Afghanistan veteran). The stories are all true, but they can be MUCH creepier and darker than The Why Files.
I read the new version of Great Expectations is woke.
The Lone Gunmen guys would be called?
The X-files hit TV magic luck, I wonder how easy it is to hit the magic of casting chemistry when your starting point is focusing on the mind-bending, jarring, complexity of disparate and unlikely characters as your mandatory casting goal.
How about diversifying Gone With the Wind?
Idiots.Run.Hollywood.
Good actors, writers, directors, et. al. — of ALL races — must cringe when they see stories like this.
Leave aside the question of whether The X Files is worth rebooting. I watched a few episodes back in the day. Like many such shows, it started well and then ran downhill as the team ran out of good ideas and started veering ever further into WeirdoLand. I drifted away pretty quickly. How long did it run? Probably too long.
But ok, try a reboot. It’s only money, and the streamers need content to fill the programming void. Time has passed. U.S. demographics have changed. The demographics of the industry have changed. And if studios just made a good hiring decision and moved on, NOBODY would care if the director or major cast was black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Romulan, Klingon or Vulcan.
NOBODY cares.
But the moment the suits start banging the diversity drum, they paste the stuntcasting label on all involved. A solid director with a good track record who had some great ideas for this show? No ... he’s black, black, black, BLACK, do you hear me, so applaud.
Same for the actors. Best person for the role? No. Best melanin for the DEI commissars.
If they’d just do it and shut up about it, nobody would care. They’ve now made it an issue.
Hard pass. I’ve no interest in seeing a show full of gays, lesbians, and trannies.
Let’s have a diverse reboot of Black Panther.
They've done that one already.
Another show DOA
Brinson, Buttigieg and his husband.
” Now the taxpayers will be supporting the Africans right here in America.”
Have been for quite some time now...
