We skipped the light fandago, and turned cartwheels across the floor.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion, or satire, or both.)

HATED that morose song. I would shut it off as soon as I heard the organ intro.

I liked the song, but never did understand it.

I always appreciated the lyrics, but I agree with you about the song over all.

Some years ago a NYC radio DJ told an interesting anecdote about this song. Back in the days when John Lennon lived in New York, the DJ said he would occasionally see Lennon driving around the city in his classic Bentley. And
every time he saw the car, he could hear this song playing on the stereo.
The DJ said he was convinced that Lennon went to his grave wishing he had written “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”

“WSoP” might be my all-time favorite song.

Supposedly it’s about a guy getting very drunk and carelessly getting sexually involved with a girl and her physical response to her feelings of deep remorse...
....and so it was that later ..as the miller told his tale,
that her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale...

I guess you also hate Stairway to Heaven and the 1000 other older Rock songs with “morose” content.

The music for A Whiter Shade of Pale was lifted straight from a piece by JS Bach.
